ITC OF SOUTHSIDE PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
|
|
National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August. The event has been held annually since 1984.

|
|
Southside Behavioral Health, lead agency for ITC of Southside, served the communities of Mecklenburg and Brunswick counties Virginia, by giving out school supplies to local families during National Night Out on August 3rd. They distributed pencils, notebooks, rulers, etc., to better help children succeed in school. Local youth and their families also participated in our Backpack Raffle to win a backpack full of additional supplies and toys. Between the two locations, 400+ bags of supplies were distributed to local youth and their families.
Thank you to to Southside's early intervention team for providing public awareness and child find efforts on available services for young children and their families in Southside communities.

How Communities Support the Social-Emotional Development & Mental Health of Children
National Night Out's annual engagement with our Public Officials, Police Department, Emergency Response teams, and Educators is an opportunity to have fun, learn about community resources, and strengthen our sense of community.
However, beyond the free Popsicles, Popcorn, and cool water there is much more intention baked into the night for our youngest community members, our children.
Evidence Based research highlights how Communities can create Protective Factors for children so that they develop into healthy and engaged adults. Read More

Practitioners, please be aware of the expiration date of your Early Intervention Certification and be sure to submit a renewal application before your certificate expires. This is the best way to avoid a lapse in certification.
Please note; if you let a year pass after your certification expires you will need to retake the training modules and submit another initial application. Until our system is in place, reminders to warn you that your certificate is about to expire aren't able to be sent.

NEW RESOURCE!!!
Breadth of the Three Child Outcomes
The three child outcomes, measured by early intervention and early childhood special education systems, encompass functional skills and behaviors that are meaningful for a child’s participation in everyday routines. They cut across developmental domains to represent the integrated nature of how children develop, learn, and thrive. The breadth of these outcomes provides a framework for describing and consistently measuring children’s functional skills and behaviors across settings and situations.
