Our chapter held two online events so far in May to continue providing the quality programming you have come to know us for. In response to COVID-19, we quickly shifted our traditionally in-person luncheons to an online format.

On May 4, we hosted a panel discussion on Emerging Technology in Mobility and Transportation. Dr. Katie Turnbull from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, Marcus Ashdown from Jacobs, and Alicia Winkelblech from the City of Arlington’s Office of Strategic Initiatives served on the panel and Madeline Shepherd with Ford, moderated the discussion. The group shared their insights on how emerging technology is closing transportation gaps, improving roadway safety, and enabling more flexible, agile transit systems. They also dug into some of the implications that emerging technology has for the planning and design of transportation projects.

On May 19, Cynthia Wallace from the U.S. Census Bureau shared an update on the 2020 Census as well as discussed the importance of the connection between the census and transportation funding, planning and overall community investments.

A big THANK YOU to all of our speakers for sharing their knowledge and insights.
