Greetings!
NOW is the time to support CVWO with a donation to the Kiptopeke Challenge! It's our 25th
Challenge AND 25th anniversary!
The
Kiptopeke Challenge (KC) is a fun and friendly team birding competition. Teams compete to identify the greatest number of bird species in a single day. The primary goals of the KC are to raise funds for CVWO and to raise awareness of fall bird migration on the Eastern Shore and along the coastal plain of Virginia. The KC takes place during fall migration each year – September 28 this year – when birds sing little and many have molted their breeding plumages. Add in hatch-year birds, and you’ll understand why the event is called the Kiptopeke Challenge! Warbler neck is a KC hazard!
It's easy and safe to donate online at our
website. Choose a team from the nine listed and donate with your debit/credit card or PayPal account.
The KC is CVWO's largest fundraising effort each year. We've already committed funds to pay our biologists and intern this fall – and their housing. So your donation will make a difference right away.
Your continuing support is critical and we thank you for any amount you can donate.
Thank you,
CVWO President
