It's almost time for Food For Fines! Starting this Friday, November 1 through December 30, bring non-perishable food items to the customer service desk of any library location. In recognition of your donation, we'll clear the overdue book fines of one account, and all donated food will be collected and distributed to members of our community through Second Harvest Food Bank.  TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
We are happy to announce our first Library Takeover program: Transgender Day of Remembrance.
On November 20, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 pm, we will hold a candlelight procession and memorial program to remember those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence. This program is sponsored by San Mateo County LGBTQ Commission, San Mateo County Pride Initiative, San Mateo County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, San Mateo County Pride Center, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse, African-American Community Initiative, and RCPL Library Takeover. STEAM AT THE LIBRARY
 Nearly 600 people came to STEAM at the Library this past Saturday, October 26, exploring nine stations outside and STEAM for Preschool in the Family Place. Outside visitors had an opportunity to create a folded paper microscope, meet robots and more!
We were thrilled to be a Bay Area Science Festival partner and hope to do it again next year! Many thanks to our community volunteers and exhibitors, Environmental Volunteers, Foldscope, BluSky Kids, Ingenium Kids,Woodside High School Robotics, Space Cookies (a Girl Scout Robotics Team), Sequoia Gem and Minerals Society, Rocketship Technologies, and MV Code.
