Hello,
It is hard to imagine where we were 10 days ago versus where we are today with our families and businesses, and to still be so uncertain of where we will be 10 days from now. The COVID-19 Pandemic has certainly re-written history and as we all adapt and pivot, know that your Chamber is strong, and that we are here and committed to utilizing all the resources available to help you in the best way we can.
Our chamber has been supporting Shakopee businesses since 1955. Those that came before us went through wars, recessions, epidemics and acts of terrorism, and this is something else that we are going to weather together.
We have 300 members who employ thousands of people in our community and I have been beyond impressed with the way that everyone is stepping up to lead their teams through this, making difficult decisions, and supporting one another. I spoke to a member this morning who repurposed their manufacturing plant to start producing surface sanitizer and hand sanitizer in bulk to keep those on the front lines safe. I've seen countless social media posts of chamber members and community members sewing face masks for our healthcare workers. I've seen many examples of people connecting their "haves" with other's "needs" to help ensure that no one is going without. In this time of uncertainty and anxiety, I am overwhelmed with all of the grace, courage, and Shakopee strength that I am seeing. I've never been prouder to be part of this amazing community. We will get through this.
In the meantime, we need to continue to focus on health and safety. Please keep social distancing, please work from home if you can, please follow the CDC guidelines. The Chamber team is all working remotely but rest assured, it is business as usual for us. We are here and committed to connecting you with the resources you need, and bringing you the most accurate and up to date information we can.
Be safe Chamber friends,
Angie
