We Rose Against Hunger - 160,000 Meals Packaged!

Thanks in part to TBC's significant involvement, The Rise Against Hunger Event, sponsored by the Wilton Interfaith Action Committee (Wi-Act), was a huge success!! TBC had a great showing of volunteers as part of the nearly 750 volunteers working on Saturday, Oct. 19. There were four shifts of 185 to 195 people packaged 40,000 meals each shift. These meals are on their way to Somalia. TBC also contributed $2000 to the effort, thanks to some very generous congregants. Thanks to all the donations of time and funds, the committee was able to up its meal-packaging event to complete 160,000 meals, 10,000 more than originally planned!
