FAMILY DRIVE-BY ~ Friday, May 1st
4:00 pm-5:00 pm
All Preschool - 8th grade families are invited to an all-school drive-by designed to lift everyone's spirits. This Friday at 4:00 PM, the gates to the entrance of the school will be opened for a cruise by the school. Teachers and staff members will be lining the driveway to smile, wave, and applaud everyone's efforts with distance learning.

To make this event enjoyable for all, please follow these directions:
  • Please stagger your arrival time, between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Fencing will not come down until 4:00 PM and will go back up at 5:00 PM
  • Cars are to remain single file in one lane at all times.
  • The cruise will proceed through the traffic circle and faculty parking lot, with a U-turn in front of the preschool. The route will be marked with cones.
  • Please avoid cruising in over-sized vehicles as the area is narrow and we need to accommodate traffic both ways.
  • Participants should not park or exit their vehicles.
  • We hope that you'll all join in to lift everyone's spirits and remind us all that we belong to a great community, united by faith and love for our children.

We can't wait to see everyone's beautiful faces!
NO CONTACT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
NEXT PICK-UP DATE IS: MONDAY, MAY 4th
8AM - 5PM
Monday, May 4th, the fencing at the entrance will be removed for packet pick up. The fence will be back up the next day. Please make arrangements to pick up on this date.

DO YOU STILL HAVE A VOLLEYBALL OR BASKETBALL UNIFORM? Please bring back on Monday in a bag labeled with your child's name and put in box near Office Drop off cart.
A Note from Mrs. Ryan

Dear Parents,

The teachers, staff, and I are very excited to invite our preschool and elementary families to an all-school drive-by designed to lift everyone’s spirits. This Friday at 4:00 PM, the gates to the entrance of the school on Old Redwood Highway will be opened for a cruise by the school. Beginning at the entrance to the circle our teachers and staff members will be lining the driveway to smile, wave, and applaud everyone’s efforts with distance learning. There will be balloons, signs, and other surprises. And yes, Mr. L will most definitely have Norman the snake wrapped around his neck!

Although participants are not allowed to get out of their cars, we hope that the cruise will lift everyone’s spirits and remind us all that we belong to a great community of people united by our faith and love for our children. In order to make the event enjoyable for all here are the directions:

  • The cruise will last until 5:00 PM when the gates on Old Redwood Highway close again.
  • Please stagger your arrival times. The gate will open at 4:00 PM but if everyone shows up at that time, we will just create a traffic jam.
  • Please don’t come early as all teachers and staff won’t be in position until 4:00 PM.
  • Cars should stay in a single file line at all times.
  • Since there will be no cars parked in the faculty lot, the cruise will proceed through that lot with a U-turn in front of the preschool. The route will be clearly marked with cones and there will be plenty of staff on hand to direct you.
  • Please avoid cruising in over-sized vehicles. The area just east of the circle is narrow, but it can accommodate traffic both ways.
  • Let’s take it slowly and be patient with each other. There’s no need to hurry since most of us have no place to go afterwards but home.

We encourage your children to show their St. Rose spirit in creative ways as long as they stay in the car. As with many things during this crazy time, we are just making this up as we go along. We are St. Rose strong, and working together I know we can pull it off. I can’t wait to see you all!

Sincerely,
Kathy Ryan

The Bertero Family
Many of you have asked how you could offer sympathy to the Bertero Family. What Elisabeth would appreciate most at this time is a fund to help with travel expenses for her adult children to visit. Mrs. B's daughter Sarah and her family live in Connecticut and have not been able to visit for many months. Sarah had to say goodbye to her father over the phone. If you'd like to contribute to the travel fund, please mail or drop off your gift to St. Rose School. Checks can be made out to Elisabeth Bertero directly or, if you prefer, to St. Rose School.
