WE'RE STILL ON THE JOB IN YOUR LOCAL EXTENSION OFFICE
Whatever life may throw at us, we're here with research-backed information to help our fellow Arkansans navigate through any hardship. As #Arkansas growers continue to feed the world through the #COVID19 crisis, we are #StillOnTheJob.

FEEDING ARKANSAS FAMILIES

Jeff Quick, chief executive officer at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas says food banks have seen as much as a 50 percent increase in requests for services. โ€œThe COVID-19 crisis is unprecedented, and we anticipate an increased need for months, if not years to come, related to the economic impact of the crisis. The Feeding America Food Banks across the state are grateful for the support of the Extension Homemakers Clubs statewide.

๏ปฟThe support of these ladies will enable our food banks to serve thousands of Arkansans who are struggling with hunger and poverty," said Quick.

THANK YOU TO EHC MEMBERS

Good morning,

First, let me thank you for the wonderful work you are doing around our state! As a healthcare provider, the outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming from companies and individuals like yourselves.

I am writing on behalf of CHI St. Vincent. My team is contacting companies, individuals, corporations, etc collecting donated PPE for St. Vincentโ€™s stockpile fund.

At this time, we are not out of protective equipment, but supply is running low. We want to be prepared and ready should we have a surge of COVID-19 cases either now or later.

With sincere gratitude, I am asking if your group would support our St. Vincent employee family and patients.

Any amount of PPE is MUCH appreciated. We can pick up from your location.

Again, thank you for your time and your organizations mission during this unprecedented time.

God Bless,

Chastity King, BSN, RN,CCM, RN Coordinator Facility Relations

MYTH BUSTING THIS WEEK!
ONGOING SOCIAL CONNECTION CONTEST
DEADLINE - MAY 18TH - YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO PARTICIPATE!

Don't forget the Social Contest is ongoing. I have heard from a few of you.

We are going by honor system and I do not need a list of names of people you contacted. You may contact people more than once and it count. However, please do not count people that you already talk to on a frequent basis. This is an outreach contest to help those that need a little extra love coming their way.

Reminder of the Challenge:

Each week between now and May 18th, email me the following:

# of calls to check on socially isolated people
# of cards mailed to socially isolated people

At the end of the contest, whoever has the largest number of outreaches will receive a $25 gift card from a locally owned restaurant or business (they need some extra love right now too!).  This is an EHC only contest-only paid members prior to March 18th can participate.  Please, please, please email me your information weekly so I can report our efforts.
