Studio Update - Corona Virus Response
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY -
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Last night, RDC's team had a staff meeting with Dr. Mark Gerard, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, to educate our staff about COVID-19. Dr. Gerard has been in practice for over 25 years and is on staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank.

RDC's Owners called this meeting because we want to understand the facts about this virus and what precautions we can take to do our very best to protect the health and safety of our students, families and staff. We have always had hand sanitizer at the front desk and in each dance room for our staff and customers, our admin staff cleans up every night after closing and we have a professional cleaning crew that works on the studio after hours. You may have noticed over the past week that our administrative staff has been taking extra sanitizing steps in our lobbies and bathrooms to help keep everyone safe.

AT THIS TIME, WE WILL REMAIN OPEN AND
CONDUCT REGULAR CLASSES

We will be staying in contact with the two public school districts in our immediate area - Glendale Unified School District and La Canada Unified School District. If they decide to close for a period of time beyond their regular spring breaks, we will reassess. We are also staying in contact with the Los Angeles County Public Health department and will follow their guidance.

After our meeting last evening we are taking the following additional steps for the health and safety of our staff and customers:

  • All of our water dispensers will be closed and covered. PLEASE BRING WATER FROM HOME (IN MARKED CONTAINERS). We will continue to sell bottled water at the studio for our customers.
  • All lobby toys, books, crayons and other entertainment materials will be removed from our lobbies and thoroughly cleaned.
  • Props in classroom will see limited use (if used, teachers will be cleaning with disinfectant wipes directly after class)
  • For our mini students, Buddy the Bear will be on Spring Break until at least mid-April.
  • Ballet bars will be wiped down by teachers after every class
  • Lobby and bathroom surfaces will continue to be cleaned regularly
  • Teachers and staff have been advised to limit very close physical contact with children and each other. Unfortunately, our staff will not be giving hugs, high fives, handshakes during this time. Its not that we don't want to show affection for your kids, we love them enough to do what we can to keep everyone healthy.
  • Our teachers and staff will follow the same guidelines for illness.
  • If a child is coughing or sneezing in class, our teachers will disinfect their hands in the classroom and send the child to the front desk to be sent home.

Here is what you can do to help keep our community healthy:
  • If your child is sick OR you are sick, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO.
  • IF YOUR CHILD DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL, PLEASE DO NOT BRING THEM TO DANCE
  • If you or your child has a fever of over 99, or had one in the last 24 hours - PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO.
  • Please follow coughing/sneezing etiquette (cough or sneeze in to a tissue and immediately throw it away, followed by hand washing with soap and water)
  • Bring water to class for your child in a dispenser that is clearly marked with first and last name. Our regular water dispensers will be covered for the time being. Water bottles are available for purchase from the front desk.
  • Wash hands before and after every class.
