Save the Date for Hansen Life Sciences Retreat

Registration opens Sept. 1 for the 2021 Hansen Life Sciences Retreat to be held at Logan’s Riverwoods Conference Center Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9. Celebrating its 11th year, the annual gathering is open to all USU students and faculty involved in the study of biological processes at the molecular level.

Science Unwrapped Explores New Horizons

Science Unwrapped, the public outreach program of the College of Science, kicks off its 2021-22 series Friday, Sept. 17, at 7 pm in ESLC 130, with USU data scientist Kevin Moon, who presents, “Seeing Science.”     Please encourage your students to attend and to volunteer to provide learning activities. Encourage Use of Science Writing Center

USU’s Science Writing Center offers both in-person and online sessions for students seeking tutoring help this fall. The center asks faculty to encourage students to seek out this resource and to consider use of incentives, such as extra credit. College of Science Student Hardship Fund Launched

Thanks to the generosity of the Aggie Family, the College of Science has initiated the College of Science Hardship Fund to provide one-time, emergency financial assistance to students within the college who are experiencing a crisis. This fund is separate from the university’s Student Emergency Fund, from which science majors may also apply for assistance. To access the fund’s website, select “Students” from the main navigation bar on the College of Science home page and select “Student Hardship Fund” from the drop-down menu.     For questions beyond the information on the website, please direct undergraduates to Associate Dean Greg Podgorski and graduate students to Associate Dean Sean Johnson.
