Registration has opened for Run Before You Crawl 5K

Dover Main Street, a non-profit dedicated to downtown revitalization, is pleased to announce registration is now open for its annual Run Before You Crawl 5K Road Race and restaurant crawl to be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The race and restaurant crawl is sponsored by SmuttLabs Brewery and Kitchen.
The kick-off to the 2020 Dover Race Series, Run Before You Crawl 5K will start at 9:30 a.m. and wind its way through downtown Dover, NH. At 11 a.m. the race
transitions to a restaurant crawl with fun and free food offered at several local Dover eateries. Sponsor Smuttlabs Brewery and Kitchen will feature the live Keltic Band, Penhallow, between 11:00am and 2:00pm.

Art Center showcasing a fine selection
The Award-Winning Art Center in downtown Dover, NH is showcasing a fine selection of local artists with its artist members' show on display for the month of February. The show opens with two of Robert Weinstein's impressive pastel works. On the left of the gallery are some mind-
boggling works.

New Multilingual Book Club at Dover Public Library

The Dover Public Library has partnered with the Community Literacy Center based at the University of New Hampshire to present a six session Multilingual Book Club. This is a unique opportunity to introduce children to the myriad of languages that are spoken in our communities. Families with children ages birth through five are invited to attend any and all sessions on Thursday mornings from 11am to 12pm beginning on March 5 and ending on April 16 (There is no session on March 19).  Each session will feature an interactive presentation of a picture book written in a language other than English. The reading will be followed by a related art activity.

Kateryna Woodworks specializes in handcrafted end grain cutting boards, butcher blocks, and serving boards. Although they do have an assortment of sizes, styles, and colors to choose from, they also welcome customization of existing products as well as custom orders. If you have an idea for a project, they are open to listening!
They also offer a variety of hand-turned wooden accessories that will look great in your kitchen, such as measuring spoons and cups, rolling pins, wine corkscrews and bottle Stoppers, and ice cream scoops.

Cornerstone VNA receives grant 
from  the Walmart Foundation
Cornerstone VNA , a nonprofit home health and hospice care provider, was recently awarded a $500 community grant from the Walmart Community Grants Team and Facility #1749 in Somersworth, NH.
Dover Arts Commission awards City Arts Grant to local author

The Dover Arts Commission is pleased to announce the selection of Emily Cook as the recipient of its winter 2020 City Arts Grant.
Cook earned her B.A. in environmental studies and visual art from Eckerd College in 2008, with a focus on endangered species and islands. She received her M.A. from Prescott College in 2018, focusing on environmental education through storytelling. Her children's book, "I Saw An Åga," is the capstone piece to a curriculum she developed to improve avian ecological literacy on the island of Rota, in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).
