LIFE GOES ON
Hope you are enjoying Cinco de Mayo Day, which one person pointed out happens to fall on Taco Tuesday, but can't be celebrated because we are all shut in due to a disease named after a Mexican beer.
Anyway, you've also got lots to do to get ready for tomorrow. It is School Nurse Appreciation Day. This day has been around since Gerald Ford announced it in 1974. For many children, the school nurse is their primary means of health care. School nurses continue to be an essential part of how our country cares for its children.
No school nurse, however, would approve of some other stuff going on tomorrow, especially "No Diet Day." I will not be observing that personally, however, as I have been under 24-hour per day spousal supervision since this lockdown.
Tomorrow is also "No Homework Day," "Beverage Day," and "Golf Day." I thought that there would be 'no homework' once I completed my formal education. But just weeks away from my retirement, I'm still doing more homework (for my job) than I ever did in school. Beverage goes with homework: just thinking of all the coffee that gets spilled on my papers and books. But I have learned not to spill it on my computer...a homework essential these days that was totally absent in my formal education. Golf Day sounds good, but I'm way out of practice...so, I have a year to get better at it so I could actually enjoy the experience instead of merely endure it.
