MESSAGE

FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

August 16, 2021

Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year!

We hope everyone had a restful and relaxing summer. It has been a busy time in our District as we put the final touches on our construction projects and prepare all our classrooms and buildings for the first day of school on August 30. The new elementary building is ready to open and the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on August 28 at 11 a.m. The middle school renovation will be finished by the start of school, and we are just months away from finishing the high school project. These spaces will provide a number of exciting opportunities for our students.

The past 18 months have provided some of the greatest challenges I have faced in my 25 years in education. All of us need to take on these challenges as opportunities. Opportunities to collaborate and come together. Opportunities to disagree and still respect each other. And most importantly, opportunities to teach our children how to overcome adversity and persevere.

I believe that this school year is going to be outstanding! We have great families and students being engaged by an outstanding group of educators and support staff. I can’t wait to get started!

With Bear Pride,

Mike

You will notice two large collection points in our fiscal year, which are August and February. These two months are considerably higher than the other months due to real estate collection, which represents over 70% of our revenues.
