One month away....
It's May 16. The start of our mission trip is one month and a day away.

The sheet of prayers in both English and Spanish that we will be using before breakfast and after supper each day is now online here. Please note that we will be using the Lord's Prayer in Spanish, so if you are not familiar with that version, now's the time to check it out. This prayer sheet has been posted on the 2019 trip planning page here.

In other news, the 16 fans that our team has funded for the 8 bedrooms on the second floor of the main dormitory at the Campamento have been installed. These will replace the floor fans that we have used in the past. Julia has been busy writing thank-you letters to everyone who donated items for our recent auction and dinner to raise scholarship funds, and thank-you notes to everyone who made scholarship contributions. I have been messaging Jacqueline IsaĆas in El Pedregal about her plans to purchase the vaccines from her veterinarian in Santo Domingo that our veterinarians, Meg and Casey, need for her dogs. Phyllis and Julia have met with our two teenage missioners in Thomasville, Caroline and Bella, to work out details of the "teen team" projects. Julia and I visited Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesboro on May 12, where we met briefly with Fred, our fellow missioner, and Julia spoke to the congregation during the 10:30 a.m. worship service about the scholarship program in El Pedregal. Leidy has been checking on a suitable bed and mattress to furnish the new bedroom we are building for her cousin, Pirlulu. The walls and the roof for that new bedroom have been completed, and when we arrive our construction team will get to work on laying the concrete floor and painting the interior and exterior of the walls.

Speaking of Jacqueline, our vets, and her rescue dog project, the short video that came from my visit with her in February 2019 is here. If you haven't seen it yet, please check it out now. Everyone will have an opportunity to meet her and tour her rescue facility while we are in El Pedregal.

Next week: the list of prayer partners.

Julius
