When Can We Go Back to our Building?
Let's start with the easy part: we all love St. Martin's and think it is a beautiful church. We love to go there for worship, social events and inspiring programs.
But...
Never in our lifetime has there been a public health situation like the one we are experiencing now.
We were preparing to send out a survey to ask you when and howyou would like to reopen our buildings. There are lots of state and diocesan requirements and lots of extra financial cost involved in going back into our buildings, even in a very limited way.
But then the health reports for this week began coming in, and the reports of churches that have reopened infecting countless others.
So, for the time being, we will stay as patient as we can. We will stay as safe as we can. We will continue to gather by way of platforms such as Zoom. If you are having problems using Zoom, please contact us and let us help you.
The Vestry will discuss safe times and ways to open at each month's meeting.
Until then, let's count our blessings. Some people who could not physically get to St. Martin's now join in regularly via the internet. People on vacation are logging in. Members of the military can join us from where they are stationed. We are joining with St. John's for good study and discussion - it's not all bad. In fact some of it is actually wonderful. So rejoice, and again I say rejoice. God is good and we will get to new places and ways together, by God's sustaining grace!
