Home Access Center Information

Accessing Grades and Coursework
At 3:00 PM on Friday, December 18th, HAC access to grades and coursework will be turned off so the process of assigning of grades can begin. Report Card Grades and Coursework will be viewable at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021.

2nd Semester Schedule
Be on the lookout during Winter Break for your Semester 2 schedule in HAC. Please be sure to look over this information as it will include your student’s lunch period and lunch location. More information will be forthcoming.

Why is Report Card Grades and Coursework inaccessible in Home Access Center (HAC)?
· All grades must be electronically processed and checked for errors and incompletes.
· Turning off HAC grades/coursework while grades are checked for accuracy ensures that families don’t see a grade before it has been verified as correct.
· Since teachers submit their grades at different times, if grading is left on, students and families become concerned that something is wrong if some grades appear but others are missing in the portal.
· Deactivating the HAC grading portal and then turning it back on once all grades are submitted limit confusion while guaranteeing that all students have access to their grades at the same time.

If you know a teacher, coach, counselor or other staff member who makes a difference, especially during these trying times, please nominate them for an award by completing the form found here http://www.hcpto.org/make-a-difference/

Anyone can make a nomination. The PTO presents 6 Make A Difference Awards per quarter. The awards include our thanks with a personalized certificate and a $50 restaurant gift card. Nominations received by Friday, Dec. 11th will be considered for the second quarter Make A Difference Awards.

Admission Testing and the Surging Test-Optional Movement Presentation- January 12, 2021, at 7:00 PM

In response to the pandemic, colleges have radically adjusted their admission testing policies. Over 95% of selective colleges do not currently require test scores. But it’s not that simple. Please join the experts at Compass Education Group for a pragmatic discussion about admission testing in 2021. In addition to analyzing the range of implications, motives, and trends related to the complex test-optional movement, Compass will review best practices for exam selection (SAT or ACT), preparation, and the timing of official administrations.
