Dear Assumption Parents:

The institution has developed a comprehensive COVID-19, coronavirus, resource on the Assumption website that is updated daily with important news and information. This resource includes information from the Centers for Disease Control, Massachusetts Department of Public Health and other official sources.

The web resource details how Assumption has responded to the situation such as, but not limited to:
  • Reminding students of flu-prevention measures
  • Suspending institution-sponsored international travel
  • Suspending operations at the Rome Campus
  • Returning students must self-isolate for 14-days and be cleared by a physician prior to their return to campus
  • Urging students participating in study abroad to return to the U.S. to complete their academic program
  • Discouraging members of our community from traveling internationally during spring break.

Please visit the COVID-19 Precautions information page on the Assumption website for more details on how the institution has responded to the coronavirus situation.

Last week, I established a Campus Continuity Task Force with a charge to develop specific protocols and on-campus responses to any presumed or confirmed cases of coronavirus. These protocols will complement operational continuity plans that were recently updated to enable academic programs to continue in the event of an interruption to in-class instruction. The Task Force will provide periodic updates when there is new information to share. If you have questions, please send them to acpa@assumption.edu

Sincerely,
