COVID-19 Impact on Marine Corps Activities and Base Access

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes throughout the Marine Corps. It has impacted the shipping, training, and graduation of recruits, the travel of new and seasoned Marines, and the health care of veterans at the VA hospitals across the country. You can read the COVID-19 section of our website for every update that impacts the Marine Corps. Some of the most important ones are the following:

  • Recruits undergo a two-week quarantine when they arrive where they are monitored by medical professionals twice a day.
  • The travel restrictions for all Marines have been extended through June 30.
  • Due to the travel restrictions and not being able to take leave, Marines are authorized to accumulate more than 60 days of leave (not to exceed 120 days) during the period of March 11, 2020, until September 30, 2020.
