FINAL TRANSCRIPTS FOR SENIORS
Seniors are reminded that virtually all schools require that they submit a final transcript of their high school work prior to their enrollment at the college or school. Seniors must submit a Release of Information request for this transcript signed by a parent or the student (if 18 years old or older). Mr. Hutton visited all of the Senior Religion classes and gave everyone a copy of the Release of Information form. He explained why it is important that it is turned in to the Guidance Center prior to graduation. In addition, Mr. Hutton emailed all of the absent seniors a copy of the form. The completed Release of Information Form, along with the $4 or $2 processing fee, must be submitted so that this final transcript may be sent to the school that the student will attend. Transcripts will be prepared and mailed as soon as possible after we are notified that records are finalized. Please note that all official transcripts must be sent directly to a prospective employer or college/university. We are not permitted to release official documents directly to students or former students at any time.

SENIOR PLANNING GUIDE
Plan Ahead
Some time ago, the members of the Class of 2020 received a copy of the Senior Planning Guide, a booklet prepared by members of the guidance department. This booklet presents a wealth of information about numerous issues related to post-secondary education and training. Students were advised to read over the guide during the summer, share it with their parents, and to make sure they have it available for their use in the fall.

FALL PSAT TESTING
Prepare for Fall
Each Fall, the Sophomores and Juniors are required to take the PSAT Test, which is the pre-cursor to the SAT. Due to the large percentage of our students that take the SAT during their Junior and/or Senior years, we feel as though the more exposure and practice our students have to the test the greater chance of success when their PSAT scores count toward scholarship consideration, as well as on the SAT when considered by colleges and universities. This year, the test will be administered on Oct. 16, 2019, and there is a $17 fee required to take the test.

2019-20 SAT DATES
Beginning in October
The 2019-20 SAT testing dates are: Aug. 24, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7, March 14, May 2 and June 6. Delone Catholic will be a test center for the November and May administration of the SAT. Registration materials will be available in the guidance offices. Seniors are encouraged to take SAT in either August, October or November if they need additional scores sent to colleges prior to early deadlines. Students may register online for 2019-20 SAT test dates. This option will be particularly useful for those who want to take SAT or SAT Subject Tests. All the codes and information necessary to register are included as part of the online registration system. Important dates and deadlines for SAT registration can be found below:

2019-20 ACT TESTING
Prepare Early
The American College Testing program offers testing for students who intend to apply for college. Colleges in the West and South typically prefer students to take this test rather than the SAT. However, more schools in the Middle Atlantic and Northeast states now accept ACT scores as part of an application. Some students do better on the ACT assessment because the ACT measure achievement, while SAT measures aptitude. Students who feel that they could score higher on an achievement test should schedule the ACT in addition to the SAT. Delone Catholic will be a test center for the October and April administration of the ACT. The following information about ACT dates and registration deadlines is provided. Registration materials will be available in the Business Office during summer hours and from the Guidance Office when school is in session. Students are advised to register online here.

HANOVER AREA COLLEGE NIGHT
Keep Your Eyes Open
The Delone Catholic High School Guidance Department continues to cooperate with other local high schools and the Hanover Rotary Club to sponsor the Hanover Area College Night. In the fall, one of the local high schools will host the College Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. We will announce the date and location once we are notified of those details. The Guidance Department encourages parents and students of all grades to attend this program, which will be particularly helpful for seniors and juniors.

CENTRAL PA REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIRS
Test the Waters
The Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC) helps to organize several Regional College Fairs in the area. Harrisburg Area Community College will be hosting their annual Central Pennsylvania College Fair in the fall of 2019. Last year's fair attracted over 2,400 area high school students and their parents who met with 140 college and university representatives. The dates, times and location will be announced when made available to us. Representatives will be available at both fairs to meet with students and parents.

ADAMS COUNTY AREA COLLEGE AND CAREER FAIR
22 Years Strong
The Adams County School Counselors Association coordinates the Adams County Area College and Career Fair each fall. This year, the fair is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the campus of Gettysburg College. This will be the 22nd year for the event, and there should be over 100 options for students to explore! The event is completely free to the public, so everyone is welcome. Please consider exploring this event to learn more about options for your future.

SAT AND ACT PREPARATION COURSES
Prepare Over the Summer
An abbreviated SAT English Prep will be held
June 17 and 18 from
12:30-2:30 p.m. The $65 fee includes instruction and a prep book. The English Prep will be an introduction to the re-designed test, some practice work, and setting students up on Kahn Academy. Registration is due
June 22.

NCAA INITIAL ELIGIBILITY FOR ATHLETES
Important for all DCHS Athletes
During the 2019-20 school year and the foreseeable future, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and its member colleges will continue the procedure for certifying whether individual athletes are eligible to compete in intercollegiate sports during their first year in college. All students who wish to participate in athletics at the Division I or Division II level must register with and submit a high school transcript to the NCAA Eligibility Center in Iowa. The cost for this service is approximately $80. Please contact any member of the guidance staff or read online if you have questions about this procedure or the eligibility standards.
Parents and students are reminded to check the list of Delone Catholic core courses accepted by the NCAA initial eligibility clearinghouse. These courses are listed in the 2019-20 Course Catalog published by the school. Student athletes should use this information to help them select appropriate courses for the 2019-20 school year.

Welcome Class of 2023!
Attention Class of 2023 (Incoming Freshmen) - Remember that Works of Mercy Hours can begin to accumulate as soon as 8th grade is completed. In addition, please remember to complete the Summer Reading assignment. Please check the school's website for additional information.
Aug. 14 will be our Freshmen Parent Orientation Night. This is an ideal opportunity to hear from current families, students and faculty about what life is like at Delone Catholic.
The Guidance Department has established a list of helpful hints and suggestions for 9th graders. To view that list,
