Mizrahi Comes to Lakeview!
Place an order this week for delivery on Thursday, April 30.
Support one of Anshe Sholom's favorite caterers and enjoy Mizrahi for Thursday Dinner (and maybe for Shabbat as well)!

Organized by the YP Committee but open to the whole Lakeview Community. Mizrahi is bringing us their delicious food to Lakeview and delivering to our homes Thursday evening April 30th for just an extra $5 per household.

Since they are coming all the way from Northbrook, this can only work if we have a minimum of 15 orders and the orders are $25 minimum. Just call Mizrahi (847-831-1400), tell them you are part of the Lakeview order for Thursday April 30th, place your order, and pay over the phone. Orders must be placed by 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 30th.

We miss you a lot but hopefully the taste of Mizrahi will remind you of the delicious YP Shabbat Dinners that we can't wait to have with you (when it's safe!).
Medical Provider Appreciation Shabbat
Parshat Emor, May 8 - 9
Medical professionals of all kinds are on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, as they work tirelessly to help those in need. To recognize their tremendous contributions and support them during this challenging time, ASBI is designating Parshat Emor (May 8 - 9) as Medical Provider Appreciation Shabbat.

The Chesed committee will arrange to send Shabbat dinner and a thank you note to any shul members who fall into this category.

  • To support this effort with a contribution, please click here.

  • If you or someone in your family is an ASBI Member and medical professional, and would like to be recognized and supported, please click here to add your name.

  • To help the Chessed Committee in this and other chesed initiatives, please click here to join the Chesed Committee WhatsApp group.
Financial Assistance Fund
ASBI is launching a Financial Assistance Fund to provide short-term financial assistance ASBI members who have suffered the loss of a job or income in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis. Please look for a forthcoming email from the shul for information about how to request this support. All donations made to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund will be dedicated to supporting our community in this way. Donations can be made at asbi.org/donate.
ASBI Small Business Task Force
Have a business and looking for ways to be successful through this crisis? Wondering what to do with employees, whether to take loans on, remote working best practices and how to explore alternate revenue models?

A number of people from our community have come forward to offer consulting services to serve as a soundboard for making tough decision with ASBI businesses owners. We can help come up with scenarios, crunch numbers, share what that means for your business, and what you can do to adapt.

If you'd like to engage with us, or volunteer as a consultant, please email joshuaklipman@gmail.com.

The inspiration for this initiative came from this shiur by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.

A Note from the Clevs Family
We wanted to thank the entire ASBI community for their outpouring of love and support in response to the loss of our beloved mother, Batia Clevs. We know that her neshama is looking down on us and graciously thanking every single one of you. Batia loved her community and her Jewish people, we are deeply touched by everything everyone has done. We do hope that her memory will live on in every single one of you and that you’ll never forget her warm hugs and kisses. We wish everyone health during this difficult time.
