Dear Daves Avenue Families,
The second trimester is coming to a close and Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week, March 2 - March 6. Please note that all TK/Kindergarten classes will follow the AM schedule Monday through Friday and will be dismissed at 11:30 A.M. Students in grades 1-5 will follow the Wednesday minimum day schedule for the entire week. Hopefully you have already had a chance to respond and sign-up for a conference on the schedule that was sent out by your child’s teacher. Attending a conference helps to build a strong home to school connection where parents, teachers, and students can discuss learning styles, academic progress and strengths, targeted growth opportunities, peer relationships and more. We are committed to maintaining and enhancing partnerships with families as your child’s success and well-being is our guiding light.
Enjoy the gorgeous California sunshine this week. Our Cool Cats are soaking in the rays during recess and lunch daily. 😊

From the District Nurse
Welcome back from the break. Hopefully, you were able to have fun, rejuvenate, and stay well.
We continue to be in the midst of the flu season.
As a community, we can help ensure the general health of our students at school. Remember, please continue to take precautions to prevent the spread of all infectious diseases. Keep children home if they have:
- a fever of 100.0 or higher
- nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- sore throat
- difficulty swallowing
- unusually red, itchy, watery, or burning eyes
- body chills
- or generally feel ill

Volunteers Needed!
The Lions Club and Sheila McConville, the District Nurse, will be conducting student vision screenings at Daves on
Monday, March 9th
.
We are looking for four volunteers, two for 8:40am-10am and two for 10:20am-12pm. It’s super easy and a huge help to Daves! No experience is needed. The parent volunteers will help walk the students to and from the vision screening room and double check student lists. If you are interested, please bring

BOOK FAIR BEGINS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28!

Book Fair will begin on Friday, February 28th and will run all through Conference Week, March 2nd-6th. Please stop by to browse the latest selection and stock up for summer reading! Non-school hours tend to be the least crowded and offer more casual viewing. Most days during Book Fair, the library will be open until 6pm.
On both Friday, February 28th and Wednesday, March 4th the library will stay open late until 9pm to accommodate later shoppers.

Los Gatos Youth Theatre provides children in Los Gatos and the surrounding communities an opportunity to participate in local theatre, through multiple shows and workshops.
LGYT serves school aged kids 6-18 in a safe, real-life theatre environment.
