The WCA Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an entirely volunteer, parent-led group focused on building a strong school community including parents, staff, teachers, administration and the school board while supporting school needs through various fundraising programs.

Chipotle Spirit Night

Our next Spirit Night is Tuesday, October 22 from 4-8pm at Chipotle! Mark your calendars, as this will be a fun way to have dinner tackled for the night, see your friends and raise funds for our school. Chipotle will donate 33% of the proceeds to our PTO!

Fall Festival

Save the date! Saturday morning, November 2, we are shaking up the community and fundraising efforts this year, with a pancake breakfast for the whole family. We're THANKful for all of you and what you do to support the school and our teachers. It will be a fun event to ring in the season of thankfulness.

Go to wcafallfundraiser.com to place your order. A pancake and sausage breakfast will be $5. You will have the option to add juice, coffee or fruit for an additional charge and there will be a gluten free option available for the same $5 charge if you'd prefer.

If you are a local business owner interested in having your products/services featured while also supporting the school PTO, we are collecting gift certificate and products to be used for a silent auction and prizes. If you have any connections in the community, we'd love any donations, as all funds go back to WCA. Please contact  Katherine Plog Martinez with any questions.
No donation is too big or too small. We appreciate you supporting us and look forward to seeing you there!

PTO Meeting

Join us at our next PTO meeting, November 19, 6:00-7:30pm in the school cafeteria. The format of our meetings will change a bit this year. We'll have less meetings overall (4 in total) and each one will focus on a theme important to parents. The November theme is 'Supporting Your Child in Learning a Foreign Language'. A light dinner will be available if you need to come straight from work or activities. Please note that you're "going" on the event in the
PTO Facebook Group . See you there!

Box Tops Update

Bring in your clipped box tops to the office or send them with your kids by October 25th. Our goal is $500 between clipped and scanned coupons and the kids will be rewarded with a school wide dress down day in November.

Box Tops are going digital. If you haven't already, please download the Box Tops app and register. This allows you to be able to scan your eligible purchases and ensures that the school gets credit. No more cutting out box tops! Send your remaining clipped box tops in and help our school earn a dress down day, all while raising funds.

Upcoming PTO Volunteer Opportunities:

Hispanic Heritage Celebration:  World Compass Academy will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday,  October 11.  Our celebration will be held in the cafeteria during lunch. We will host a variety of fun and interactive activities in the cafeteria and the outdoor space. There will be Día de los Muertos face painting, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Sombrero Musical Chairs and much more!

Parents, we only need 4 more people to assist with the activities at our celebration tomorrow, October 11th. Please sign up here if you are available to volunteer for any of the time slots.

Students are free to wear any kind of Spanish attire on Friday, October 11th.

Cougar Store: We need volunteers to help wrangle the 1st-4th grade students and the goods at the monthly Cougar Store. This is a chance for the students to pick rewards for their good behavior using their Cougar Cash. The store is held during lunch periods, which run from 10:45a.m. to 12:50p.m. We have included a little time on either side for set up and clean up.  It is fast and furious moving all the students through the store in this short time period.
Book Fair: Our Arctic Adventure themed book fair will be held November 4-7. Taste of World Compass is the night of November 6, so parents and families can shop together then as well as students' shopping during the week. Sign up here to volunteer

If you would like to be notified of new volunteer opportunities such as Lunch Helpers, Pizza Friday Helpers, School Photo helpers, please get on our volunteers list by emailing Heather Ridges-Schneider at:  [email protected]

We have several dates still available! If you are a WCA guy and are interested in impacting, encouraging and supporting our students' and staff, please reach out to  Lisa Parker

She will help you select your date to be part of WATCH D.O.G.S. and get your photo up on the Wall of Fame!

Shopping for Groceries = FREE $$ for WCA

King Soopers - shopping and earning money for the school has never been easier. Log onto your account at Kingsoopers.com or on the app. Under the Community Rewards section, indicate that you want your donations to go to World Compass Academy. It's as simple as that. Nothing else you need to other than shop and 5% of your purchase will come back to WCA.

Safeway - if you prefer to shop at Safeway, we have rewards cards that credit the school for each dollar you load and then spend. If you would like one, our treasurer Ashley Lenihan can sell you one ($5 for a $5 loaded card). Reach out to her at [email protected].

Lost and Found Reminder

We are busting at the seams! This photo was taken on October 9th. Please come in and see if your student has any items in the lost and found.
