Registration Process
There will be TWO registration booths. The closest to the lobby doors is for Session 1 Athletes . The one closest to the spectator entrance (down the same hall) is for Session 2, Primetime & Coaches . On Tuesday ONLY during registration hours , a table will be set up for coaches only in the between the two registration booths.

When you arrive, have available and ready to show when you get to the front of the line:
  • Photo ID
  • Your USA Powerlifting Membership Card (please download a new one if yours does not contain the new barcode to scan). You can either print the card or display it on your phone.

You will receive your Coaches badge(s) and any meet tshirts or jackets you purchased.

Registration will only be open the following times: Registration Hours. If you arrive outside the posted times, you will not be able to access the venue as a spectator. Please plan accordingly if you want to spectate.

DO NOT lose your badge(s), they will be required to enter the venue,warm-up area and the coach's box.

Coach's Badges
Coaches will receive one badge per session that they are coaching. That badge will contain the athlete(s) names you are assigned to coach for that particular session.

  • You will be required to show your badge to enter the warm-up area.
  • You will be required to show the badge to the Technical Controller (TC) EACH time entering the staging area/coach's box.

Your coach's badge will give you access to the venue for the entire day indicated on your badge.
Your Athlete Didn't Register You As A Coach
If the athlete you are coaching forgot to register you by the deadline or you picked up another athlete who wants you to coach them, no problem. Both you and your athlete will go to the Registration booth for Coaches and register and pay the coaching fee. You will need to present your membership card again, so please have that ready.
Equipment Check & Weigh-in Room
Only one [1] coach may accompany the athlete through equipment check & weigh-ins due to space limitations in the rooms.
Coach's Responsibility Reminder
As a reminder, the following was on your Coach's Registration Form. We ask that you review it once again.
 
The aim of USA Powerlifting’s (USAPL) Coach Responsibility is to ensure the successful coaching of powerlifters at our regional and national championships while upholding USAPL standards of drug-free competition, professionalism, and sportsmanship in a manner consistent with the directives of our National Governing Body and Executive Committee.
 
The coach has many duties and responsibilities associated with the above aim including the following procedures and code of conduct:

Personal attire:*
Coaches should exhibit a professional look. Personal attire should be clean and not torn. Shirts must have sleeves, athletic shorts or pants, cargo shorts, and jeans are acceptable. Offensive clothing or clothing from other federations are prohibited. Coaches must be wearing closed-toed shoes at all times.  

The number of coaches allowed in the warm-up room:
  • 1 lifter: 2 coaches
  • Only one [1] coach is allowed in the coach’s box

 Additional Items
  • Coaches must adhere to the USA Powerlifting Code of Conduct Policy at all times.
  • Alcoholic consumption is strictly forbidden in the warm-up & competition areas.
  • Video recording is NOT permitted in the coach’s box.
  • Signs of aggression and/or ammonia use are only permitted behind the lifting platform and out of the view of the audience or Livestream.
  • Coaches will ensure their warm-up platform and surrounding area is well kept by replacing all weights to the weight trees and removing all trash.

*Please note that the Executive Committee has updated the Apparel Policy and will be in effect at Nationals. You may review it here .
Rules
If you are new to coaching at the National level, please take a some time to review the Rulebook . Understanding the rules will help you and your athlete have a better experience at Nationals.
Withdrawals
Have an athlete who is withdrawing? Please fill out the form ( Athlete Withdrawal) or have them email the National Office as soon as possible to allow us to plan the best event for your fellow competitors.

There are always volunteer opportunities! Have some extra time throughout the event?
  • Drug Testing Chaperone - Must be 18+ y/o and willing to accompany the athlete from time of notification for drug testing until they give sample. Great time to chat with some of the best athletes!
  • Merchandise Booth
  • Lifter/Coach Registration booth
  • Live broadcast commentator during the sessions.
