Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.

Dear Theatre & Dance community,
Never have those words been more true than now! As we re-imagine our private space as both classroom and home theatre, we have entered an enterprising period of exploration and discovery!
Here are a few announcements to re-cap recent events in our swiftly changing production landscape:
WNPF.
We are not presenting WNPF this quarter, but will continue to explore how future season planning might include some form of these works from our exceptional playwrights and their respective creative teams.
Mr Burns.
The undergraduate production of the play, featuring three different UG student directors, and three individual and inspired approaches to presentation, is full steam ahead in the planning stages. Live streamed and/or recorded performance offered online by the end of quarter.
New Directions
. The undergraduate collection of choreographed work is in progress and will feature works sheltered-in-place and/or site specific locations. Presented as a live streamed and/or recorded performance TBD.
LAB SP2020.
We've all seen a seismic shift in new forms of online presentation over the past month--it's an exciting landscape full of potential. Seize this opportunity to create and present work as we extend our wildly successful winter LAB into our virtual spring quarter. LAB SP2020 will be a festival of online works created specifically for this particular time and place.
Everyone.
Please use the link below to access the

Please read this message from Production Manager Michael Francis:
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the UCSD Theatre and Dance Digital Spring of 2020! This Spring is not what we were originally planning but I think with all the conversations people are having... we're coming up with some great ideas. In order to support all of these ideas we have created a Google form to help us track what projects we are working on and what those projects will need. EVERYONE, please fill out this form. If you're in Mr Burns or New Directions please fill out the form. There is a place for you to select what project you are working on. We also have another selection for a LAB type project. These are projects that are original created works that we want to help support as well. I hope you all will take some time and think about your project. If you don't know everything that you need, please try to explain as much as you can. It would be greatly appreciated. I know this might be a surprise to some, so the deadline for these submissions is Sunday April 26. This gives you one week to submit your ideas.
If you'd like to help and you have experience and resources that are commonly used with streaming video please fill out the form as well. We NEED your help.
Thanks for everything in advance and for helping to make it the best it can be.
--Michael
As a reminder, we have two workgroups currently focused on digital platforms--Digital Performance Workgroup and Digital Teaching Workgroup. Both workgroups have student representation, so be sure to connect with your grad and undergrad student reps to represent you and to receive the latest updates.
Thanks to everyone for your artistry, your continued patience and your generosity of spirit.
Wishing you all peace + health + creativity!
