Garfield High School Centennial Celebration Committee is honored to announce
Bruce Harrell '76 as the emcee for the Garfield High School Centennial Celebration!
On November 22, 1975, Bruce Harrell took the field for Garfield High School in the game remembered as the best game in the history of Memorial Stadium, even the best Washington high school sports event of the 20th century. On that day, Blanchet High School beat Garfield 42-35 in a four-overtime football game featuring an array of future stars. Bruce Harrell was a starting linebacker and captain for Garfield.
In 1984, Bruce graduated from the University of Washington School of Law. He has served in a variety of leadership roles, representing kids and seniors, union members, non-profits, affordable housing companies and working as a senior attorney for technology and telecommunication companies. He served on the Seattle City Council from 2007 to 2019, retiring as City Council President.
