Effective February 7, 2020 generators of hazardous waste aerosol cans have the option to manage them as a universal waste. Compliance with universal waste regulations is much easier and less expensive than those for hazardous waste.

Michigan Electro-Plating Company and Owner Sentenced for Illegally Storing Hazardous Waste
Electro-Plating Services Inc. (EPS), located in Madison Heights, MI and its owner Gary Sayers, was sentenced in federal court in Detroit on November 6, 2019 to five years of probation, and was ordered to pay restitution of $1,449,963.94 to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
