Eating With the Dead: 
 The Cult of Molekh Part 2

You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor practice divination or 
soothsaying.  You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD. (Le 19:26, 28)

Last week's newsletter Acharei Mot (after the death) described one of the two "legs" upon which the cult of Molekh stood, sexual perversion as described in Leviticus 18.  The cult of Molekh is mentioned again in this week's portion, "Kedoshim," or Holies.  One's holiness does matter both before and after death.  A good understanding of holiness can prevent one from dying too soon, like Nadav and Avihu, or it can affect one's role in the Kingdom after death, which is really living.

The second leg of Molekh is attachment to death, for it is a death cult.  Is it a coincidence that our generation is fascinated with death in the form of zombies, "Walking Dead," skulls, memorial tattoos, witchcraft, and killing the weakest members of the human race?  So the first leg, sexual perversion that kills "seed" and reduces women to subservient "breeders" is attached to the other leg, dead spirits:

Do not profane your daughter by making her a harlot, so that the land will not fall to harlotry and the land become full of lewdness. You shall keep My  sabbaths  and revere My sanctuary; I am the LORD.  Do not turn to  mediums  or  spiritists ; do not seek them out to be defiled by them . I am the LORD your God . You shall rise up before the  grayheaded  and honor the  aged , and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD .   Any man from the sons of Israel or from the aliens sojourning in Israel  who gives any of his  offspring  to  Molech , shall surely be put to death ; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.  (Le 19:29-32;  20:1-2)

So "Holies" is founded upon reverence and honor for the family and Adonai: "every man shall fear his mother and father," (19:3) which creates a respect for every human being, from the aged, grayheaded person to the child who must not be passed to Molekh.  

To review last week's lesson, the cult of  Molekh  is a slandering death cult: 

There  are men in you who  slander to shed blood , and people in you  who eat on the  mountains .  

"The mountains" can mean idol worship, but may also mean eating a holy  shlamim  (peace) meal within sight of the Temple, which both sitting atop a mountain and is surrounded by mountains. Eating the holy meal imparted holiness to everyone who ate it.   Jerusalem is a city of peace, yet shedding of blood (slander) is occurring at feast time.  Holiness is turned into a death cult to destroy the seeds of life.

Moses will speak of this later in Deuteronomy:

These are the statutes and the judgments which you shall carefully observe in the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess  as  long as you live on the  earth . You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess serve their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. You shall tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and burn their  Asherim with fire, and you shall cut down the engraved images of their gods and obliterate their name from that place. You shall not act like this toward the LORD your God. 

But you shall seek the LORD at the place which the LORD your God will choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there for His dwelling, and there you shall come.   There  you shall bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the  contribution  of your hand, your votive offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock. There also you and your households shall eat before the LORD your God, and rejoice in all  your  undertakings in which the LORD your God has blessed you
. (Dt 12:1-7)

So there are two types of spiritual foods offered on the mountains:  the foods offered to the dead in the death cults of idols and the foods offered to the Elohim of Israel.  Yeshua hints to Jewish expectation of life after death, which is for the righteous one to eat a holy meal with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when he enters Paradis:

I say to you that many will come from east and west, and  recline  at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.  (Mt 8:11)

Does a dead person really need food?  If there is food in the Kingdom, then food is more than physical food, more than we think it is.   Food is something that can be shared among the righteous "dead" who will be resurrected; it may ONLY be done within the Torah's holy and prescribed manner.

Holy meals were intended to enable fallen human beings on earth to  e xperience the holy dimension of the Lower Garden, or Paradise, and to have a meal with the Holy One and with His People, their "neighbors."  Remember, the dimension of the Lower Garden is above the natural earth, "afar," yet not far.   In this respect, those who are already eating with "Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" celebrating the feast above are sharing the meal with those on earth, for the righteous dead in the Garden will both revere the Sabbaths and rejoice at the appointed feasts.  

The Sabbaths and appointed feasts are a highly-regulated HOLY contact with the dead who yet live and await our arrival at the Kingdom table.  This contact cannot be actively sought out, and it is contact which one is prohibited from seeking in any other way.  Molekh  represents those other ways, thus he stands on a leg of occult contact with the dead.  

The method and timing of this meal is holy because without the holy "clothes" of the realm (obedience), there will be death, even in seeking the Divine, such as  Nadav  and  Avihu .   The deception is that other methods of contacting either dead humans or demons (gods) is zeal for the spiritual service and "connectedness" or reverence for ancestors.  The death cult of Molekh was practiced in the Valley of Hinnom adjacent to the holy mountain.

Some Temple sacrifices were completely burned up, off-limits to both priest and individual.  Others were to be shared, each prescribing and teaching some boundary of holiness that would promote life, not just holiness, or separateness.  Separateness without gathering to like kind and mind, the living righteous, is death, not holiness.  That holiness is only obtained by putting on Yeshua's clothes of righteousness.  Righteousness is found in obeying the abundant life-giving commandments.

Nadav  and  Avihu's  death illustrate one of the common methods used to access the spiritual realm:  incense and fire.   They desired spiritual ecstasy with the Divine, but they lost their "clothes" of holiness through disobedience, making their service a strange fire; it originated from "nature" below, not the Divine spiritual realm.

Holiness is the way to connect to righteous dead who live in the Garden and with the One who will resurrect them.  Significantly,  Nadav  and  Avihu  were carried out of the Tabernacle in their clothes.  They turned those priestly garments so graciously supplied into death garments of disobedience.

The double-entendre of "father/Father" and honoring him/Him explains:

Then  Moses said to Aaron, "It is what the LORD spoke, saying , ' By those who come near Me I  will  be treated as  holy , and  before all the people I will be  honored [ ekaved] .'" So  Aaron, therefore, kept silent . (Le 10:3)

This was a lesson in Holiness and what is required to LIVE or serve close to the Presence .   Nadav  and  Avihu  dishonored their father Aaron in front of all the people by rushing ahead of him to perform the incense service.  This was strange fire (disobedience), and did not honor their father or The Father.  Natural --- spiritual.  The commandment is to honor "kavad" one's father and mother, which is the axis on which the Ten Commandments of life turn.  When zeal comes from the fire above, it is acceptance and connection to the source of all life.  When the fire comes from below, it is death:

The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity...so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  (Ja 3:5-6)  

The teeth ( shen ) tear and the tongue-fire ( shon ) consumes the offering.  The shin of the holy Name is atop Jerusalem, including the valley of Ben- Hinnom  (son of lamentation).  Unholy fire camps atop holy fire.  It tries to MINGLE the seed of the field.  Unholy fire is foreign to the seraphim around the Throne, and they saraph (burn) those who come too close to the Life in the Name Shaddai without clothes of holy obedience.

Disobedience is a beautiful, ecstatic adjacent deception, like the Tree, David's sons Absalom and  Adonijah , giving no reverence to the Father, like a son who takes his father's wife...or His Father's Bride (which Absalom did). While Solomon the authentic king was being anointed at the Gichon Spring, Adonijah was throwing a "king-me" feast at Ein Rogel, the spring of the Slanderer!

Imposters do much of their death cult work at the holy feast time, yet it may not be a holy, life-giving feast, but an adjacent death feast.  Perhaps they will not stop at creating an "almost-like" death feast, but even hide themselves at the appointed, holy feasts for loving one's neighbor:

These  people are dangerous reefs at your love feasts as  they  eat  with you  without reverence . They are shepherds who only look after  themselves . They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn fruitless,  twice dead and uprooted . (Jude 1:12)

If  Nadav  and  Avihu had cared for "all Israel" and their father Aaron, they would have restrained; instead, they did not reverence their father, their "brothers" who bewailed them, nor the Father.   Their works were fruitless, so the seed   is dead from strange fire.  This bears out the rabbis' and  Yeshua's  focus on loving one's neighbor as embodying the whole Torah and holiness.   Molekh  is  dominating  one's neighbor or brother, father or mother, child.  It destroys the Family of Elohim.

Aaron could not eat the holy meal after his sons died, and he reminds Moses that "such things as have befallen me this day" have prevented him from touching the holy food in grief.  Aaron could maintain outward life, but he could not control inner grief from death.

Why is food  holy? And why does it impart either holiness or evil?
Examples go all the way back to the Garden of mixed seed, good and evil, to "eating and drinking and playing" with the Golden Calf, to "eating" and idolatry with the Moabite women.  Foods and drinks fall into the category of imparting natural life and spiritual life. Often the devastating death of demonic food is not realized until much later, but sometimes sooner.

Demonic entities, or "gods," are attracted to burning incense and foods. These forces obviously do not eat the physical matter of the food, for they are not corporeal, but spiritual. They do, however, take in a "food" of some kind, for every living thing "eats." Have you ever heard of someone who was "feeding" off controversy or other negative activities?  It was the psychic ( Gk ), soulish part of the person getting fat off of other people's anguish or unease, something fathers are prohibited from doing to their children.  Be careful with teasing!

Spiritual entities take in some form of energy, so in the occult, incense is burned to foreign god-demons, physical foods are offered, and even decorations, such as flowers and emblems, such as bird feathers, etc.

To understand how demons "feed" off of physical food or lewd and slanderous behavior, look at the holy examples.  The sacrifices of Israel are called "the food of your God."

' They shall be holy to their  God (Elohim)  and not profane the name of their  God (Elohim),  for they present the offerings by fire  to  the LORD (YHVH),  the food of their God; so they shall be holy .' (Le 21:6)

When Israel served obediently, the sacrifices attracted the Divine Presence to "dwell among them." Their holy conversations (incense) reached Him. Conversely, when they were wicked or cold spiritually, the Presence withdrew.  He did not "eat" with them or hear them. He abhorred the smell of the meal and incense. 

This explains how foods offered in the name of demon-gods is a way of attracting...inviting...them into a human life.  The same energy of soul intention that was invested in bringing the best that one had in food, incense, wine, or even one's very children, is what the demon "ate."  Children being consumed in the fire by  Molekh  is when the parents invited the power of  Molekh , or  rulership  and dominance, into their lives.   

All who consumed the physical meal associated with that sacrifice  became attached to the entity that drew out the soul energy invested in it by the human . This is why idolatry is so strongly prohibited in Scripture.  The Holy One does not want shortcuts into His Presence, for He knows that it is only an open door to death.  

Parents and grandparents:

Be very, very careful what you encourage your children to "pass through" as they grow up.  Parents live through their children by encouraging them to do anything and everything that will make them popular, successful, and a winner.  It is not success that the child is born wanting, but what the child imprints upon "in the field." A parent must discern between the child's holy success and the activities absorbed by the parent that make him or her feel competitively successful and well-favored in the eyes of peers.  That demon's presence may be hard to turn loose of.

Using a child as a point of attachment to one's personal success is a fiery sacrifice indeed.  The demon uses the "food," which is the child, to attach itself to the parents, but actually, it is the parents who invited it by passing the child into a "way" that was not thoroughly thought out.  This is not just physical sports or hobbies, but media, music...anything.

Do children's activities lead the child to become okay with not guarding the Sabbath, immodesty, sexual immorality, only winning and dominating, lying, preying, swearing, slandering, realms of the dead, etc.?

Activities for children should:
 
* honor  and  respect BOTH of the  child's  parents and their Torah values, which are life
* not  be their  parents'  "food " or way of connecting to feelings of self-worth
* not deaden the child's sense of modesty, especially as he or she enters puberty
* emphasize that winning a competition must be balanced with the temptation to dominate other human beings, which is a death cult
* h onor and respect neighbors and friends, including other participants in the activity

Adults, b e careful of using:

a.  Incense or incense-based oils (intent is the key here).  Know who compounded it and why...INTENT.  Don't buy incense in a head shop!
b.  Foods associated with any spiritual activity other than what is prescribed in Scripture, such as Halloween candy, Christmas cookies, Easter eggs, etc.
c.  Drink, especially wine or intoxicating drinks.
d.  Formulaic chants or songs of a questionable or unholy message.
e. Drugs, especially those that are hallucinogenic and alter brain chemistry, made for the purpose of a "trip"; pray before anesthesia, such as the Shema; state or intend that you are not opening the door to any force other than Divine healing influence under treatment.

The reasons are too numerous to explain in a newsletter, but you can figure them out based on the Torah portion Kedoshim.  In fact, your spirit already knows why, because the Holy Spirit is teaching you why.  Above all, love your neighbor, friend, and brother as yourself.  It is the heart of reverencing the Name.  Never lose an opportunity to eat holy meals with the Body of Messiah at the appointed times of Shabbat and the feast.  It draws down the Presence of the Holy Name in holy fire and purity.
