CELEBRATIONS & VISITORS
During the past few months, we have celebrated many occasions.
We celebrated my birthday, one of our Dominican friends, Jeremy’s birthday, and Jesus’s birthday. These celebrations were so special and reminded us of the sweet friendships we have here and just the enjoyable time we have as a family. Our friend rented a house for the day and catered the meal for my birthday. Fun was had by all. For Christmas, the school shares a Christmas banquet in an effort to celebrate the Dominican and American staff. (pictured is our family with Angi & her family). Angi is our good friend and partner in crime when it comes to everyday life here. She, her husband Alexi, and their children Alexander and Alondra are a second family to us.
We enjoyed family visits before and after the holidays.
Mom and Claire visited and we went on our first ever, hope not last, girls’ trip. We spent two days in the historical district of Santo Domingo. It was a lot of fun. We also spent a day at the beach and many moments together just playing at the house with the kids (they love their Grammy and Tia Cici). Nana and Papa came to visit in January and we enjoyed taking them to the beach. They were such good sports and such a blessing to host.
