North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Honors Principal Gomez

The North Carolina State Board of Education has appointed our own Mrs. Gomez to serve as a member of the North Carolina ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) Committee of Practitioners.

Mrs. Gomez is the only member on the Committee from a private school.

Congratulations, Mrs. Gomez! We are so proud of you!

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is Monday, May 13th. Our students are hard a working making special invitations for their Grandparents and Special Friends. We will be sending out these personalized invitations in the next day or two, and we need your help.

Spring Sing!

Please be sure you have marked your calendars for the upcoming Spring Sing! It will be held on Monday, May 13th at 7:00pm at the Western Alamance Auditorium.

Performers: Please go around to the BACK parking lot and enter through the doors straight ahead at the circle drive. The exact arrival time is 6:30 PM

All Middle School boys will wear black shoes, black pants, a long sleeved white shirt, and a royal blue bow tie that have been order on behalf of the students.
Middle School Girls will wear black shoes/tights, black skirts, white shirts, and an optional royal blue bow (or other hair accessory).
HEADS UP!
On Monday, May 13th, After School Closes at 4:00 PM for the Spring Sing! Please plan accordingly!
Field Day Tee Shirt Design Winner

Thank you to all who participated in this year's Field Day tee shirt design contest. The winning submission was designed by Zachary Gonzalez. Congratulations Zach!
7th Graders Visit Bishop McGuinness High School

Our 7th Grade class had a marvelous time visiting Bishop McGuinness. They had a wonderful opportunity to learn about this outstanding institution, while being involved in engaging activities, and meeting new friends from other schools.
Burlington Royals Home Run Reading Program

The Burlington Royals and Bingo came to BSS to announce their 2019 Home Run Reading Program.

Students can hit a "home run" this summer by tracking the minutes they read! Prizes are awarded for each "base" they reach!

1st Base, 90 minutes = Free game of bowling from Buffaloe Lanes of Mebane
2nd Base, 180 minutes = Chick Fil A Sandwich
3rd Base, 270 minutes = Free Medium Grape Kids Package
Home Run, 360 minutes = Ticket to Reader Appreciation Night at Burlington Athletic Stadium and a tee shirt from the Burlington Royals

Project W.I.L.D. Visits BSS

We had some interesting visitors this week from Project W.I.L.D. The students now know the differences between a snake and a legless lizard.
May Crowning

May Crowning is always a beautiful and moving event in tribute to Our Lady. Below is a photo of our 8th Graders' last service.
Altar Server Training

Altar Server training will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Altar Serving is open to Catholic boys and girls who have received their 1st Holy Communion. To sign up, click here

Spring Pep Rally

All of our spring athletes were recognized for their participation in the various Spring sports this year. The spirit was high, and the cheers were LOUD!

The final results of the flag football regular season are....

Therefore the schedule for the Knight's Cup Playoffs is as follows:

  • Game 1 will be at 11:00 am between The Costco Coupon Collectors and Team 2.
  • Winner will play The Burlington Pigeons in Game 3 at 12:40pm
  • Game 2 will be at 11:50 am between The Burlington Blowfish and The Benchwarmers. Winner will play the winner of Game 3 in the Championship game at 1:30pm.

Knight's of Columbus Visit Kindergarten and 2nd Grade

The Knight's of Columbus showed off their uniforms and explained about the purpose of the K of C organization. The students especially liked the swords!
