Purim is Coming......Order Shalach Manot for Purim Now!
Deadline for Orders: March 1, 2020!
Thanks for your support of TBC!
In the book of Esther, two of the mitzvot that are associated with
Purim are the sending of gifts of food and the giving of tzedakah. In verse 9:22 of the book of Esther it says: "[Mordechai wrote to the Jews] to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor."
At TBC, we combine these 2 mitzvot into our Shalach Manot fundraiser, a fun way to support TBC by sending gifts to friends, as well as TBC clergy, staff, teachers and tutors. Please join us in celebrating Purim through this annual tradition!
Each Shalach Manot bag will be filled with festive food and other items to create a fun Purim celebration.
If you would like to send to all TBC members, there are multiple sponsorship levels of giving opportunities. Each level sends one bag to every TBC member family, clergy, staff, teachers and B'nai Mitzvah Coaches.
- The Whole Megillah $1,000
- The Royal Shushan Society $540
- The Courtier $360
- The Gates of Mordechai $180
Or send individual bags as in the past:
- Bags for TBC members are $15
- Bags for TBC clergy, staff, teachers and tutors are $10
- Bags for non-TBC members are $15 and must be delivered by you
If a TBC member has been chosen by more than one friend, they will receive one bag with a note listing all the donors. To order your Shalach Manot, click
HERE. In the form, you will have the
opportunity to select "reciprocate", which means that we will send a bag on your behalf to anyone that sends to you.

TBC's Communications Committee is responsible for producing congregational communications (e.g., Chailites and the Website) and external communications (e.g., advertising, public relations and social media). We are looking for volunteers to help with social media (especially Facebook!) and the Website.
This work can be done from home, requires only an hour or two a week, and can be done on your own schedule. If you are interested in helping, please contact Michele Bennett at

Anti-Semitism - "It's NOT okay!"
Summit
for Jewish High School Students and Parents
Sunday, March 8 (snow date: April 5)
2:00 pm-4:30 pm
Have you witnessed swastikas in schools? Jewish or Holocaust jokes? Inadvertent or overt anti-Semitic remarks in class or on the field?
Many local high school students are facing words or acts of anti-Semitism. They are
concerned, angry, even frightened. They need to learn how to speak up and feel empowered
to respond.
Join Jewish high school students from all over Fairfield County at ADL CT's first teen
summit on responding to anti-Semitism.
A panel of ADL teen volunteers will share their stories about overcoming anti-Semitism,
followed by breakout sessions facilitated by ADL staff. Students will practice new strategies
in small groups; separately, parents will learn how to help guide their children and
advocate for them when they are confronted with anti-Semitic issues. Parents are
strongly encouraged to attend but it is not mandatory.
