Hi
,

Don't we depend on teamwork at a wedding?  (3-minute video)

Teamwork at a Wedding

Let's talk about your best wedding and party professionals.

HOW to work with them well.  And how to BE one yourself.

There's definitely a best way -- and it's all about teamwork.

And then there's a few other ways, but not so good.
So to do it right the first time, let me give you a Tip.

But First, Let Me Tell You a Little Story:

Before long it'll be "Pennies From Heaven" around here.

Raining.

And expecting rainy weather reminds me of
a recent wedding that had to go with Plan B.

It was in a gorgeous garden spot in Saratoga.

We played in one location for the ceremony,
in another location for the cocktail party,
and in a third location for the dinner.

Originally all locations were to be outdoors,
but all bets were off when rain was predicted
the day before.

Sure enough, the rains came and getting a
tent at the last-minute saved the day.

No, what REALLY saved the day was teamwork.

All the pros involved -- the wedding planner,
officiant, caterer, florist, photographer,
musicians, DJ, and all the rest -- knew the
day's schedule, knew our parts to play, and
knew what the others needed from us.

We're accustomed to working together, so we
kept checking with each other all afternoon.

This was no time for stubborn prima donnas
bullying their own way at anyone's expense.

No time for someone's mother-in-law jumping
in and taking over single-handed.

We all made lots of last-minute adjustments
and compromises.

And with many hasty conferences, we all
created a perfect wedding celebration
for the happy couple and their guests.

Why am I talking about teamwork ?

Because something ALWAYS comes up.

And when it does, as you can see, teamwork will make
your celebration the success you're dreaming about.

In all my experience entertaining at thousands of
weddings and parties, I've been finding that one thing
is always true every time:

Whether you're planning a casual holiday party, or
an elaborate formal wedding, or anything in between,
coordinating all the "moving parts" will make it...

...or break it.

This involves ALL your colleagues, including,
of course, your musicians.

We all need to know what each of us can provide.
And each of us needs to know what all the others
expect of us.

On the big day, we'll perform for you, and for
each other, on time, and perfect the first time.

So in the weeks before each event, I'll contact all
my colleagues, asking what they'll need from me.

To work out when and how we'll "make it happen".

All of us need to stay in touch.  It's how we prepare.

So to guarantee YOUR success, assemble a team of
experienced pros  who know how to work together.

Hopefully we've all experienced the miraculous
feeling of being on a team that's "really clicking".

Sure, everyone says we believe in teamwork.
But be sure all your colleagues "walk the talk".

You'll want to assemble a team of colleagues,
not a team of rivals.

So here's that Tip I promised you:
As you assemble your team of wedding & party pros,
be sure that everyone is an expert in their specialty,
and also an experienced "team player".

I'm a team player, and I know how to make our
music create the perfect mood for celebrating.

Especially at weddings and parties.

And now that we're talking about
wedding and party music...

Summertime parties and Labor Day are just ahead,
and you might be involved with planning an
exciting celebration.

And if you or a friend are engaged to get  married,
you might also be involved with  planning the wedding.

Perhaps both.

So the next time you or a friend   are looking   for
upbeat, elegant music,  played the way you want,
think of us.
