The Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) is a Program Administrator that provides energy efficiency programs and services to residents, businesses, and public agencies. SoCalREN serves customers located in the areas that receive electricity from Southern California Edison (SCE) and/or gas from SoCalGas^®—encompassing 12 counties and a population of over 20 million. SoCalREN is proud of its collaboration to prioritize a clean energy future with its five regional partners—Gateway Cities Council of Governments, High Sierra Energy Foundation, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization, and South Bay Cities Council of Governments. The collaboration brings no-cost support for energy, demand, and water-saving projects to agencies across Southern California—from the high desert to the Sierra Nevada Mountains!

With support from these partnerships, SoCalREN has welcomed 38 new agencies to the network; engaged with agencies in over 50 presentations; launched a virtual three-course energy efficiency training series; and delivered critical energy services, such as energy analysis reports, facility audits, and benchmarking. We would like to thank our regional partners for committing to ensure their local agencies have access to energy efficiency and distributed energy resource services—especially those supporting low-income, rural, and disadvantaged communities.

We recently held three training sessions that allowed Participating Contractors to get acquainted with the new Program. If you were not able to attend one of the training sessions, a recording of the session is available here. Additionally, marketing materials describing the funding offer will be distributed to Participating Contractors, free of charge.

The Multifamily Program has been working to create a new and convenient tool designed to help estimate project incentives. This Project Incentive Estimation Sales Tool, which has been added to the contractor website under Program References and Resources, will be particularly effective during initial sales conversations with customers to help showcase the benefits of participating in the Program. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions on how to locate and utilize this new tool. (Note: The tool shows only an incentive estimation and should not be considered as a final incentive.)

The WE&T Program and SCE will be holding a heat pump training course for Participating Contractors on Tuesday, July 20. The training, which will examine heat pumps during retrofit construction, is available to HVAC contractors, distributors, product manufactures, and more. During this course, participants will learn about the value and benefits of HVAC heat pumps and heat pump water heaters. There will also be a research presentation on industry updates to heat pump technology.
