I'm Dr. Aaron Lech, the founder of ClearVue Eye Care. We've grown much over the last 16 years. For that reason I've not had the pleasure of meeting each and everyone of you who may be reading this. Nevertheless, I know that the sentiments that I want to express to you are shared by Dr. Liddicoat, Dr. Swanson, Dr. Hornick, and each and every one of our amazing team members.

Healthcare is not just about insurance, office visits, co-pays, prescriptions, diseases, procedures, deductibles, etc. Neither is healthcare possible via a "system" - systems can be helpful to our healthcare process, but a system cannot care for a human being.

Healthcare is something that happens when one person cares for another.

Healthcare requires trust.

In this current environment full of concern, shortages, fear, directives, hoarding, panic, politicking, face masks, unemployment, (fill in the blank), we often find ourselves asking "Who can I trust?" It's a very valid question.

As healthcare providers we've had to both extend trust and ask for it at the same time.

We've had to extend trust to patients. We've asked, and expected, that only healthy patients who are taking prudent precautions themselves come to receive care from us. While we are actively taking plenty of preventative measures which you can read about lower in this email, nothing in life is risk-free. We're trusting YOU to be honest and forthright with us and our staff about your medical condition and health so that we don't endanger ourselves or other patients while taking care of you. We are willing to extend that trust.

We've had to earn your trust as well. Your trust in us is not based on a slick website, or a nice logo. We believe that you trust us because you have a relationship with us, and you've watched us always attempt to do right by you. We're not perfect; that's impossible. Trust is a continual process. It's been said that the house of trust is built with tiny bricks. Little by little, visit by visit, brick by brick, we've earned more and more of your trust. You trust that we would never knowingly put your health in a place of compromise. You trust that we will not let staff who are sick or who have interacted with others who may be sick, serve in clinic. You trust that we won't take unnecessary risks during this sensitive time. You trust that we'll be here when you really need us. We don't take your trust lightly.

It's not been easy at times to take the right stand on all the right issues at all the right times. We're trying to be thoughtful, caring, and relational. That all requires trust.

I still have vision needs...what do I do?

GLASSES

If you received a notification that your glasses have returned from the lab and are ready to pick-up, you have two options:

1) you can pick them up in office during our normal hours and have them adjusted for proper wear.

2) you can call and request that we mail them to your home at no charge to you. Then, when you feel comfortable doing so, you can return at a later date to have your glasses adjusted for proper wear.

CONTACT LENSES

If you have a valid Rx and you need to order contacts, everything can be handled over the phone. While we shifted to exclusive home shipping of contact lens orders years ago, current shipping times may be a bit prolonged.

If you are close to running out of lenses and your Rx is close to expiring call us about getting enough CL's to get you through.

If your CL Rx is already expired, call our office to discuss your options.

Here's a refresher of our commitments during this season:

1) We are committed to caring for our staff: If our staff are not well, they won't be in a strong position to care for patients. By making them our initial priority, we are honoring the commitment they've made to us, and to you. We are monitoring the health of our staff and their immediate family in order to reduce the risk they pose when in our clinic.

2) We are committed to caring for essential eye care and vision needs: We have staff and doctors who are making themselves available to care for needs as they arise. If you have a vision need, reach out to determine if we can see you. We can accommodate most needs.

3) We are committed to adopting all reasonable precautions: We've always been dedicated to a high-level of hygiene here at ClearVue, and our track record for the past 16 years has been fantastic, thankfully so. Now, we've doubled down on our already stringent level of hygiene in light of the current situation. Here's an example of a few things we are doing and continue to do:

Cleaning all equipment (diagnostic, examination, and eye wear measuring devices) before each and every use.
Spacing out waiting areas and providing a "wait-in-your-car" option.
Cleaning all entry doorways, public counters, chairs, and dispensary desks throughout the day.
Closely monitoring the health of all who enter to ensure only those who are free from any cold and flu like symptoms are cared for in the office. This applies to our staff too.
