December 2020 at Place des Arts
home to our arts community
Greetings!

We've made it! Coming into the final month of the year, it is amazing to think about how much has changed and what the future holds. I hope this year has been rewarding, even if there were many bumps along the way.

First of all, I would like to thank you all for supporting
Place des Arts during this difficult year. Your dedication to our organization has meant the world to everyone at PdA and we are proud to be a home to your arts community.

As today is Giving Tuesday, we hope you can help Share Your Love of PdA by spreading your passion for the arts with others! Your financial support of PdA allows us to reach and provide educational arts opportunities to newcomer and low-income Tri-Cities families and we are proud to continue to offer program subsidies, scholarships and bursaries to encourage participation in the arts. Donate here today! You will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt.

There are many ways to Share your Love of PdA if a financial contribution is outside your means:

Next year we will be launching our Creative heARTs Family Day series that will help support in-need families. Find out more below.

what's on?
Positively Petite and Christmas Boutique ends December 17
Even with the new restrictions in place, we are still welcoming visitors (either individuals or core bubbles) to peruse our Positively Petite Exhibition and our Christmas Boutique.
Positively Petite Exhibition
This annual exhibition, exclusive to Place des Arts, features small artworks in various mediums including paintings, ceramics, fibre arts, collage, mixed media and photography from 37 local artists.

If you would prefer to stay home, you can view the exhibition in full online!

Pieces from this exhibition make truly unique gifts for the art lover on your list or those you want to introduce to the beautiful world of art just in time for the holiday season. All purchases directly support cultural programming at Place des Arts and the artists.

I've already purchased a few pieces and with the variety of work, there truly is something for everyone.

Embracing the natural world through art with Christi York
Christi York is a harvester and a weaver. All of the materials she collects for her artwork are found in and around her home on Vancouver Island. She hopes that her work will encourage people to pause and take notice of the natural world around us all.

Christi is featured in our annual Positively Petite exhibition that showcases miniature artwork created by local artists.
