We are supporting the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) and ENERGY STAR’s efforts to develop an energy benchmarking tool for distilleries. An energy benchmarking tool will let your distillery see how energy efficient it is compared to other distilleries through a simple 1-100 score. Distilleries that score 75 or higher can even be eligible for ENERGY STAR plant certification. In order for the benchmarking tool to provide the most support for energy management, it needs to account for the wide variety of facilities that exist across the country. We ask that you take a moment to complete the following questionnaire from DISCUS.

This is an excellent opportunity to investigate the potential for that "back burner" engineering design idea that has been sitting on your desk. Projects need to have a strong design component with clear, well-defined objectives to provide the students with an ideal starting point and allow them to keep focused. The required project work must be sufficient such that it may be handled by a team of 4-6 students within one 15-week semester. Learn more and submit a project.
