January 2018

Dear Concordia Alumna/us,

A new year is a renewed opportunity to create goals and look forward to the way we will accomplish them.  Oh, the places we will go and the things we will do!  The key is YOU!  What would you like to do and where would you like to go with CUAA alumni?  Although the university is currently in the middle of an academic year, we (like many others) are planning for the next one.  As we consider our goals, please call, email, or better yet, come visit campus and share your thoughts and ideas with me.  I'm excited about what God has in store for you and for CUAA!

In His Service,

January Activities...CIT

Take a break from the action at the All-Concordia Alumni Social at Highland House on Saturday from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.  See the tournament website  for more information and to register for game tickets and the alumni social.

40th Annual Boar's Head Festival and A Manor Christmas - WOW!

CUAA entertained record crowds during the weekend of the Boar's Head Festival and A Manor Christmas!  All three performances of the festival were sold out.  Attendance for the Earhart Manor tours and the Christkindlmarkt, both part of A Manor Christmas, reached more than 5,000 for the weekend.  A partnership between the Concordia Ann Arbor Guild and the University proved to be a winning combination to ensure that volunteers and guests were informed and welcomed (the weather was fantastic, too!).  A BIG thank you to alumni who returned for an encore as performers or choir members in the Friday night alumni performance of the Boar's Head Festival and all alumni who attended - Bravo!

Class of 1968 ~ 50th Reunion update
May 19-20, 2018

IT'S COMING UP FAST!  Class of 1968 --The 50th Reunion committee is reviewing the class list and will be making personal contact in the next few months.  Weekend festivities begin Saturday early evening with campus tours followed by a special reunion chapel service and reminiscing.  The night ends at the Earhart Manor with a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception.  Sunday morning, classmates gather for a recognition breakfast featuring President Patrick Ferry and a class speaker and then proceed to the baccalaureate service.  Complimentary lunch under the big tent with graduates and their families rounds out the weekend.

The Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund

Back in 1985, a group of the first alumni of Concordia (Concordia Lutheran Junior College) decided to start a fund that would support scholarships for children of alumni.  The fund lingered just below the endowment threshold until it was embraced by some new enterprising alumni.  Between crowdfunding, reunion gifts and alumni-to-alumni asks for support, the fund has met the minimum.  Let's celebrate this accomplishment because you helped to make this happen and it will make a difference in the ability of the children of alumni to attend CUAA.  But let's not stop here.   The more the fund builds, the greater our ability will be to support more scholarships for more future students who are children of alumni.  Thank you for your generosity!

To make gifts to the Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund, visit our online giving page.  Select "Endowment" in the "In Support Of" dropdown and type "Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund" in the Comments section.
