This Week at Christ Church
Mother's Day Love
Honor mothers this Sunday
You will make a difference in a child's life
Over 85 people enjoyed a festive evening last Saturday, for our annual celebration of the ministry of Vida Joven de Mexico. Guests were treated to a delicious dinner thanks to the Service Ministry committee and luscious libations. Thanks to everyone's amazing generosity over $6,000 was raised for the kids.

If you were unable to attend perhaps you might consider  honoring the mothers in your life, this Mother's Day, by making a contribution  to Vida Joven. This organization is dedicated to "mothering" children who have been abandoned and abused, by providing a safe haven and stable environment in which to grow and flourish.

You may make a donation directly to Vida Joven via credit credit card or drop a check in this Sunday's plate, look for envelopes at the Welcome Table. Please make your check out to Christ Church and  indicate that your contribution is for Vida Joven. Your mother will be pleased!

Bishop Transition Information
Help welcome our new bishop
Help welcome the Rev. Canon Susan Brown Snook to our diocese by making a financial contribution toward a gift for her. There are many things that a new bishop requires - a mitre, a cope, a crozier, rochet and chimere, a tippet, an episcopal ring, purple vestments. The diocese is being asked to raise funds towards a bishop's cassock and cincture, a white mitre and a traveling case for the mitre. We are extending the invitation to all members of the Diocese to make a contribution toward these gifts. You may donate electronically using this link or you may send a check payable to "EDSD," with "Bishop-elect gift" in the memo line. Please mail them to: EDSD, 2083 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., San Diego, CA 92107.

Help thank and bid farewell to Assisting Bishop Katharine Jefferts-Schori
The diocese is putting together a photo memory book for Bishop Katharine (shhh! It's a surprise!) and they would like to include words of gratitude from people around the diocese. Please include your sentiments via an email of 150 words or fewer submitted via email to Hannah Wilder  by May 15. Your submissions will be incorporated into the memory book that will be given to Bishop Katharine as a farewell in June.
