Go Ye!

A Note From Pastor Linda

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... and remember I am with you!
~Jesus, Matthew 28

Dear Church Family,

When was the LAST time you invited someone to church?

I think we should QUIT being a welcoming church. No kidding. I'm serious!!  DEAD serious. Like so many congregations, we spend an amazing amount of time and energy in brewing coffee, wearing name tags and putting our friendliest people (woo's!) out front on Sunday mornings. While this isn't bad- it is not enough!

Consider this:
  • Welcoming is passive. It symbolizes waiting for visitors and guests to find us and drop by. It places the responsibility on the visitor.
  • Inviting is different. Inviting is active. It means we leave the comfort of Sunday morning worship and seek out our neighbors. Being inviting starts with a God who is at work in the world!

What might this look like? Being an inviting church means sharing God's specific gifts, made real at Hosanna, with people outside the walls of the church building. Examples?
  • Want to feed kids around the world? Join me at the FMSC MobilePack. (I saw many of you do this!)
  • You're looking for quality faith-based childcare? Check out Sunshine Discovery Center, Hosanna's new partnership, serving infants through pre-k, both part-time and full-time schedules! I can arrange a visit for you.
  • Looking for a place to connect with people? Consider joining me at worship. We have Community Potlucks in the Summer- great food! Free ice cream Sundaes too!

It can be terrifying to step outside comfort zones and establish a pattern of inviting friends to attend worship. What if they laugh at me? Or think less of me? What if they label me as one of THOSE people? Or... what if they actually come? Then what?

Be The Church!

 ~Pastor Linda

THANK YOU!!!

What a crew! Over 25 generous individuals gave up their Saturday morning to take part in Hosanna's Spring Cleanup of the grounds! Because of the hard work of many people, the outside grounds are in terrific shape for everyone to enjoy worshiping outside at our own church home, and for Hosanna to look beautiful for the summer/fall months. The Green Earth Team and the Facilities Team truly appreciates everyone for helping!

A HUGE THANKS to Todd & Lisa Moorhouse for their generous donation of mulch given  to Hosanna for the grounds. It is a wonderful gift that help makes our grounds a beautiful place to worship this summer. Thank you!
