Walking with Jesus
This week may be one of the most sorrowful weeks we have experienced as a community. How do we find hope in times of great despair?

Jesus taught us how to walk this road with strength and love; to rely on his message of redemption and peace in the midst of fear and sorrow. As we share in this journey together, let us rely on each other, and on Jesus, to show us the way to life everlasting.

Good work is being done through the church, in the volunteer efforts of our members, and in the work of the organizations that we support. Because of you, our mission partners were ready on day one of the pandemic and continue their daily service:

  • Distributing thousands of meals and toiletry kits;
  • Housing and feeding individuals with mental illness, providing tele-med services and online doctor’s visits;
  • Housing, feeding and providing vocational training to more than 50 youth ages 18 – 25 who aged out of the foster care system or are otherwise homeless;
  • Providing virtual health and nutrition services to home-bound, isolated elderly, helping them pay bills, and providing stress and loneliness counseling;
  • Bringing food to the elderly poor and providing case management service over the phone; and,
  • Distributing food and clothing to hundreds of families in East Harlem.

Know that you are making a difference in the lives of those who need you. I share with you HERE a letter I received from one of our mission partners this week. If you are in need of assistance, please email me at dking@brickchurch.org and we will be in touch with you.

Thank you, for sharing God’s love in all of these ways, for standing strong for those who are in so much pain, praying with those who are in need, providing food and assistance to those who are vulnerable, and sharing Jesus’ message of hope as we move through this time of sorrow toward the joy of Easter.

Grace and Peace,

The Rev. Douglas King

A Message from the Women's Association
Thank you to everyone who has so generously responded to our annual Easter Lily efforts.

Since we will not be coming together in the sanctuary on Easter Sunday & are unable to decorate the sanctuary at this time, the Women’s Association will be sponsoring a “Celebration of Flowers” at a later date. All names "in memory of" & "in honor of" will be printed at that time along with a sanctuary filled with an assortment of beautiful Spring flowers decorated by our Sanctuary Decorating Committee.

Please rest assured, all the names submitted thus far will be included. This gives others more time to send in their submissions. We will no longer need to accept financial donations and we thank those of you who have supported this effort. If you have any questions, please email Shannon Froehlich, Coordinator of The Women’s Association at: sfroehlich@brickchurch.org .

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all at Brick Church later this Spring.
