Self Defense Tip of the Week
Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable

Being comfortable with being uncomfortable is what it’s all about. Getting outside of your box. This is what I push my students to excel in during our Field Training days. Taking the training out of a sterile environment (gym / mat area) to an area that brings out the reality of a “bad” situation.
Here is a women being attacked at the beach. The elements are rough water, and uneven sandy terrain. Water in the eyes, the feeling of drowning all come in to play. This causes even more stress on the body as the attacker continues to attack. The survivor must learn how to have an effective response in a high stress situation.

Riddle Defense Workshops...
not your average physical self defense workshops

Our workshops are designed with awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully prevent, escape, resist and survive violent assaults. Also providing situational awareness, verbal skills, and the law.
Basic Self Defense Using Pepper Spray
Multiply Your Force by attending this 2 hour workshop will not only teach you how to use Pepper Spray, but will also provide useful thoughts & skills to help protect yourself and loved ones. At the end of the workshop each participant will receive a "hot" pepper spray unit

Firearms Training Tip of the Week
Shooting From the Vehicle

Shooting from the vehicle at 35 yards. Start off with safety belt on, hands on steering wheel, looking straight ahead. A stimulus response [shot timer]. Clear safety belt, steering wheel, vehicle door, so you don’t foul your draw.

Engage and get out of the vehicle! Don’t let your vehicle be your tomb. Get to cover ASAP! Stay aggressive in the fight if you cannot escape. Use cover; your vehicle or someone else's vehicle, a tree, anything that is substantial to stop a bullet from hitting you [cover versus concealment]. Reload when you want to, not because you have to!

Fitness Tip of the Week
Benefits of Rucking with Team Riddle Defense

This past Friday night some of the members of the Riddle Defense Spartan Team completed a 3.5 mile Ruck... each participant wore a weighted vest or backpack ranging from 10 to 40 pounds.

Rucking is a great way to burn calories, improve posture, and build strength. It is an Active Resistance Training (ART, which means it’s part active cardio and part strength resistance training, with permanent metabolic gains from stronger muscles at a fraction of the cost to your knees and plenty of gains for your heart.

After the ruck, our team did an extra special drill...
pushing a car for distance. Each person gave 110% and completed the mission! Our team is preparing for the Spartan Sprint taking place in April. These two activities help to build endurance and self confidence in becoming unstoppable!

Contact us if you are interested in joining the team or just training with us to get into amazing physical and mental shape... doing things outside the "gym" atmosphere with our field training days!
