FEDERAL POLICY UPDATES
Infrastructure

The Senate came back into session on September 7th following the Labor Day holiday and the House returns on September 20th. The focus will be on a $3.5 trillion reconciliation package that includes provisions to address social infrastructure. Democratic leadership hopes to pass the full package before September 27th when the House will be holding a vote on the $1.2 trillion bi-partisan infrastructure package focused on traditional infrastructure that was passed by the Senate. Several health-related provisions are included in the larger reconciliation package including enhanced subsidies in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace, Medicaid expansion, and expanded Medicare benefits to include dental, vision, and hearing.

340B

Representatives McKinley (R-WV) and Spanberger (D-VA) introduced the PROTECT 340B Act to combat discriminatory reimbursement policies that threaten health centers’ abilities to provide patients with 340B-eligible medications.

Please consider reaching out to your Members of Congress and asking them to support H.R. 4390 the PROTECT 340B Act of 2021.
