Online Ticket Sales Open This Tuesday for May 21 Pops Concert
Our last concert of the year is just around the corner: the ever-fun Samohi Band Pops Concert, with lots of your favorite tunes, plus a great tribute to our outgoing seniors!
Tickets go on sale at 8 am this

www.samohiband.com/tickets. Look for a concert cafe signup, coming your way soon!
Pops Concert: Senior Photos and Statements Due May 10
This call goes out to all concert, marching, and jazz band seniors: It’s time to go through your old photo albums and choose one baby/early childhood photo and one recent photo to include in our 2019 Pops Concert Program and slideshow! You can email photos to
samohiband@gmail.com. Photos are due by May 10.
Buy a Pops Dedication Ad for $20!
No matter what year your student is in, you can buy a congratulatory ad, or dedication, that will run in the Pops program. Dedications are due by
May 10 and cost $20 each.

Please Keep Your Concert Dress If You Are Continuing in Band!
If you will be in a concert band next year,
you may keep your dress until you leave the band program.
If you are borrowing a dress from the bands and NOT returning to a concert band class next year, please return your dress to the clothes rack inside the band room by
Friday, May 10. Please make sure your name is somehow attached to the dress.
Note: Concert black dresses are not required for the Pops concert on May 21. Questions? Email Alisa Stewart at

Last BPA Meeting Moved to Thursday, May 16
Please take note: Our next and last Band Parents Association meeting of the year will be on
Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 pm, location TBD.

Please Return Borrowed Dinkles by May 10
Borrowed Dinkles are due in the band room by
Friday, May 10. For questions about returns or extensions, email Alisa Stewart at
samohiband@gmail.com.
Please CLEAN your shoes (use baby wipes or water with mild soap; Windex and other mild spray cleaners work, too). And if you can, please return the shoes inside the blue drawstring bag that they came in!
Percussion Workshops and Auditions
The percussion workshops are continuing every Friday after school from 4-6 pm. The Viking Marching Band also has the following audition schedule:
Front Ensemble Auditions: June 6, 4-6 pm, Band Room
Battery Auditions: June 7, 4-6 pm, Band Room
Drum Major Auditions: Friday, May 17, after school
Color Guard Auditions: May 29, 4-6:30 pm
Instrument Return/Repair
Students who are graduating (or not continuing in the program) and who use school instruments must return them by
May 24 (the Friday following the Pops concert). Please return them to Mariam Kaddoura so she can check them off the inventory and clear them from the obligations list.
May 24 is also the deadline for students who would like to swap to a different instrument or send in their instrument for repair. Please direct any questions to Mariam Kaddoura at
