ISPTSA 2020–2021 SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications Due Friday, May 14, midnight

Exciting news, Seniors! Our very own ISPTSA will be awarding four $500 Scholarships to the IS Class of 2021 to help celebrate and honor our graduating seniors. We thank all the PTSA members that contributed to support this scholarship and our school.

All applications are due Friday, May 14, at midnight.

BELLEVUE PTSA COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIPS


Applications Due Sunday, May 2, 11:59 PM

Bellevue PTSA Council offers twelve (12) $1,000 scholarships to seniors representing each high school in BSD annually. The Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding community service and rewards one student from each high school a $1,000 scholarship. The Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship rewards academic excellence to one graduating senior from each high school, funded by Bellevue PTSA Council. Applicants will be evaluated by the Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship Committee consisting of representatives from each high school.

GOLDEN ACORN AWARD NOMINATIONS

Due Wednesday, May 12

We are now accepting applications for the Golden Acorn award. Our chair for this committee is Li Wu, the 2019–2020 recipient. The Golden Acorn is a high honor awarded by the ISPTSA to a school or community volunteer in recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. The ISPTSA has awarded this honor to recipients since 1994

If you feel someone in our PTSA community or the community at large deserves this award, please complete this nomination award form and send it in. The committee will accept nominations until Wednesday, May 12. The recipient will be honored at the June ISPTSA General Membership meeting.

View the 800 Bus Routes: 887, 824, 886 and 888 (PDF). These routes have traditionally been provided by King County Metro but will be provided by BSD district transportation, via the yellow school buses, for the time being.

8TH GRADE FAMILY NIGHT: 4-YEAR PLANNING ON NAVIANCE

Attend with your student to collaborate on building out the 4-year plan for high school. You’ll get to learn more about Naviance and the Four-Year Plan. We will also do another run-through of the graduation requirement, High School, and Beyond Planning.

IT'S SPRING SPIRIT WEEK FOR INTERNATIONAL

Spirit Week: April 19–23
Spirit Week Assembly: Wednesday, April 28, 12:00 PM

Students: Get ready to show off your Titan Pride and earn points for your grade by participating in our annual Spring Spirit Week. Between April 19 and 23, students can earn points for their grade by submitting photos matching each day’s theme to their Instagram story or grade-wide teams. If you post on Instagram, make sure to tag your grade’s account to be counted! Want to earn even more points? Compete our Spirit Week bingo and post that to your Instagram story or teams as well. This can be found in the Spirit Week email from Arty or on our story. May the most spirited grade win!

AP EXAMS MAY 4JUNE 11

Payment deadline is April 21. Students with a fee waiver must complete the payment process to confirm exam registration. Visit our AP website for information about the program and payment instructions. Paid unused exams are eligible for full refund. Not sure if you paid? You can view your payment history in TouchBase.

All world language exams (Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish for IS students) will be in-person only. Chinese and Japanese testers will receive a message to the email address listed in the tester’s MyAP account from Kay Whelan or Kara Meisner with test-specific information.

The final BSD schedule is posted on our website. Your exam date in your MyAP account might reflect a new date as updates are in progress. If you notice a conflict, please reach out so we can work together to adjust your schedule.

2021 LEADERS OF TODAY COMPETITION

Interested in STEM or Community/Civic Leadership? Have that one project in mind that you just keep pushing back? The 2021 Leaders of Today Competition, hosted by the Leaders of Today action team of the City of Bellevue’s Youth Council, is perfect for you. The entire competition process can take no more than an hour to complete—we accept either a 500 word response or a 1–2 minute video from participants from ALL locations. 
 
The winners will get the opportunity to collaborate directly and meet lifelong mentors with one of our six Adult Ambassadors, who range from an MIT professor to the Mayor of the City of Bellevue to renowned CEOs. This collaboration can lead to mentorships and ONE OF A KIND leadership positions as you gain the best support for any project your heart desires.
