Message from the Mayor
Hello everyone,
For many of us, this Easter weekend will be very different from those in the past. You may even be tempted by the holiday to visit friends and family but we cannot stray off our path of flattening the curve. For progress to continue it’s very simple - don’t have visitors - don’t be a visitor! Please stay at home.
Every non-essential trip at this time puts others at risk, not just on Easter, but every day. There will be plenty of time to celebrate with others when all of this is over – in the meantime let’s continue to do what is necessary and abide by physical distancing.
I recognize that everyone has had to absorb a lot of new information and adopt new rules on a week by week basis. Our staff has been updating our
COVID-19 Information Hub
as new information has become available. We must remain vigilant and compliant with these new orders because they are working!
I know that with every new announcement our lives become a little less normal and in some ways more inconvenient. But I want to remind you of all the good things. First off, this will eventually end. Secondly, we have a strong food supply chain and grocers keeping us fed, our hydro is on, and the weather is turning so we can enjoy time in our yards. I expect that this summer we may see some of the best Lambton Shores gardens yet!
To those working in their yards, please use brown paper leaf bags. This is by far the most neighbourly way to clean up and it is more environmentally friendly than burning! To help everyone out, our staff is making arrangements to begin the curbside leaf pick-up program toward the end of April rather than waiting until May.
Please stay safe, healthy and positive. And happy Easter!
Bill
