Volunteers will Clean 100+ sites for Ohio River Sweep
The 2019 Ohio River Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, along the shorelines of the Ohio River and many of its tributaries. Volunteers from six states will remove tons of litter in just a few hours! More than 100 locations are scheduled.
"Sweep volunteers are truly
exceptional
people. They are willing to pick up litter and get a little dirty in order to help our great resource - the Ohio River." said Lisa Cochran, program manager.
People who want to volunteer should visit
www.OhioRiverSweep.org
to find the list of over 100 locations and then contact their local Coordinator. Trash bags are provided and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt.
The Ohio River Sweep is organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) and other state and environmental agencies from Pennsylvania to Illinois. ORSANCO is the water pollution control agency for the Ohio River.
