Dear Friend of the Animal Welfare Society,
The health and economic struggles of our times are extraordinary. As members of our communities we share those burdens.
It also clearly reminds us of our gratitude to all the people who have worked and supported AWS over the past 55 years. Without you we could not have saved thousands of cats and dogs and placed them in responsible, loving homes.
We need your help now. While our shelter doors must remain closed for adoptions during this crisis, we also must care for our animals every single day. We have also responded to emergency needs. Just in the past week we have taken in three dogs with medical issues and two pregnant cats who are about deliver. Kitten season is here. All this means additional skilled care from our outstanding staff and veterinarians. It never stops.
Your financial support is essential because we will not receive adoption donations for some time and yet we must provide our animals with good food, veterinary care and the supplies and services to keep them healthy.
The Connecticut Community Foundation Give Local online campaign from 7AM on April 21 through 7PM on April 22 provides the perfect opportunity to make a tax deductible donation that will be matched up to $12,000 and stretched with local bonus funds.
