Rector's Notes
OKTOBERFEST was a great success:
largest crowd, most food served, most fun ever, great competition (who knew over 40 persons would sign up for Maaskrugstammen competition), many in Bavarian costume. It was a great time. As soon as we close the books on 2018 Oktoberfest, we will announce the money raised for Holy Cross School in Ravine a l'Anse and the Food Pantry.
It took many people to make our OKTOBERFEST such a successful evening. My thanks to everybody who pitched in to make this so much fun. Our Festmeister Paul Herbers and Mutter Beth certainly deserve special recognition for wrangling so many moving parts, Sam Anderson and Kurt Knect were our music meisters, thank you. But really there were too many to count who worked hard to make this all a reality.
This years winners were--
Choir competition:
First place choir: Asbury United Methodist Choir
Second place choir: KCSymphony Mens Chorus
Maaskrugstemmen: Rachel Whitehead Women and Travis Meyer Men
Best Dressed Bavarian: Tony Silvestri
