I heard on CNN that people in Georgia could not wait one more day to return to bowling allies, hair salons, clothing stores, and beaches. We have something even more special here in New London. As we consider the things that we miss during this time, I think of the many things that we have taken for granted – much that may never be the same – and I think of the Custom House Maritime Museum where I have been a volunteer docent for the past three years. As we wait for our lives to return to normal, I look forward to returning to the Museum.
There is no replacement for the wonderful people who have taken part in the many unique programs we provide, including lectures, lighthouse tours, and the recent addition of Open Mic. The community that has been fostered within the Museum is what makes it a priceless gem. Please help us guarantee that we will come back even stronger and continue to be an exciting and integral part of the New London community.

To preserve our local community and history, the Maritime Museum needs your help now more than ever. For this reason, I have donated some of my own tax return and ask that you donate as you are able. Every bit helps.

The Briney Bank Border is in bloom with two native Amilancher trees at their full glory, above. That's the Eagle at Fort Trumbull in the distance.

Dolls in the shop, top right and left, gaze out the museum window, waiting for us to return.

The Custom House has a terrific book, gift & toy shop. But we are staying closed for now to help stem the spread of Coronavirus-19.

Last spring we planted the Briney Bank garden. It's looking terrific! We thank our neighbor Sara Munroe, at Studio 33, & the NL community for raising the funds to kick-start this garden in 2018.
