APRIL 2020
The WCMS building is currently closed to the public until at least Monday, May 4. Our devoted teaching artists and admin staff have been working tirelessly to quickly migrate the school's offerings to distance learning. Music matters because it elevates society and connects people. WCMS may be physically closed, but we are keeping the music playing! Learn more about our response to COVID-19.
JOIN US ONLINE!
Most of our private lessons, and many group classes, have been moved online. We have several opportunities for new students to join us! Sign up for online private lessons, enroll in a Music Appreciation class, enjoy a music & movement class for older adults, or participate in Music Therapy - all from your own home. More classes coming soon!

Submit an inquiry if you are a new student interested in private lessons during the shutdown (and beyond!)

Begins this Tuesday, April 7 - enroll now!

Begins Thursday, April 16 - enroll now!

We offer an online therapy group for People With Parkinsons, plus one-on-one music therapy sessions for all ages and a range of needs.
SUMMER PROGRAMS
Last year we sent out our April edition of E-Notes on April Fool's Day, with many silly promises about our Summer Music programs. This year, due to the coronavirus, we continue to monitor the situation and ask that you bear with us as we try to determine whether our summer programs will be able to run. If not, we promise to be back in full force on April Fool's Day 2021, with a free unicorn for every summer student, a big top circus in the back yard, and unforgettable programs such as "Summer Sweatin' with a Sousaphone."
YOUR GIFT IS MORE IMPACTFUL THAN EVER
Many of you have asked how you can make a difference to WCMS's success during this unprecedented time. Donate now with a secure online gift to WCMS, and your contribution will provide operational support to address our current and changing needs including:
  • Assisting faculty and staff with technical support for distance learning and remote operations
  • Keeping the utilities paid in our building during the shutdown period
  • Financial assistance for students in need
Your gift to WCMS will help our school remain whole in its operations while continuing to bring music to our shared community during a challenging time. We are all in this together.
THANK YOU to our many Faculty, Staff, Trustees, Advisors, Students, Families, and Volunteers
In every issue of E-Notes, we  thank the many volunteers who assist us with events and projects throughout the year. This month, in light of the COVID-19 shutdown, we would like to thank EVERYONE for their Herculean efforts and support as we weather this difficult time together.
Music MAYnia 2020 is cancelled
We are very sorry to announce that Music MAYnia has been cancelled for 2020. This would have been our 16th year of MAYnia, and it is with heavy hearts that we cancel our biggest and most joyful event of the year. We'll look forward to MAYnia returning in 2021!
