Antonian College Preparatory High School

Since our last correspondence dated March 4, 2020, the administrative staff of Antonian have been closely monitoring the quickly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We are aware of recent developments affecting college and university students, decisions made by other local private schools, and guidance by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for those who have traveled during spring break. We have been in discussions with the Department of Catholic Schools, the staff of which have been collaborating with other local ISDs and state agencies. We want to let you know that we anticipate a teleconference involving all Catholic school principals to take place on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to discuss further plans for instructional continuity for all Catholic schools.  Following this teleconference, we will update our families with more information.
Notwithstanding any decision made for instructional continuity, we now know that the CDC has significantly added to the list of countries designated as Level 3 by the CDC due to coronavirus. In this case, rather than asking for medical clearance immediately from families, faculty, or staff who have traveled outside the United States (including on cruise ships), please expect to follow the CDC directive to ¨stay at home for 14 days after returning from travel, monitor their health, and practice social distancing¨--in other words, to not return to campus for a period of fourteen (14) days, and then to show evidence of medical clearance. We hope that all families will show the care and concern due the members of the Antonian community by not subverting this directive.
Please know that through all this, we ultimately have the health and well-being of our students and employees in mind. We thank you for your patience, trust, and support as we continue to inform you of information as it becomes available.
